This lodge was perfect for my stay in Thredbo. Jenine, Amanda and the team provide a warm welcome and are willing to assist with any requests guests may have. The lodge has a great location within walking distance to the village and lifts. The Thai restaurant in the lodge provides lovely food and the waitstaff provided great service. The room... More

After a great week at Alpenhorn Hotel in 2013 we re-booked for 2014 and we were not disappointed. We took 55 students and 5 staff down to be greeted by bluebird days and wonderful snow conditions. We had worked with the staff on tailoring the menu more closely to our needs and they didn't let us down. The food was... More

Perfect for a large school group. Rooms are warm with comfy beds and enough space for all, quiet too. Staff are friendly and happily cater for individual needs. Meals are perfect before and after a day on the snow. Walking distance to thredbo village and ski lifts. We all had a fabulous time.

I attended our school ski trip and had an amazing time. All the rooms were excellent. Food was amazing and the staff managed our large group with ease. The rest and retire lounge down stairs with a gas fire and heater in the back room was very inviting. There was plenty of space in the Dry Room for ski boots... More

We have used the Alpenhorn now twice for a group booking and it just keeps getting better. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and warm in winter. The food was always plentiful and fresh. Staff are very easy to deal with. Thredbo village and all that it has to offer year round is literally on the doorstep. A very nice... More

Our group of 41 people were looking for a decent lodge to hire for 4 nights over summer. Our groups have stayed at four different lodges at Thredbo and Alpenhorn was by far the best commercial lodge of this standard that we've hired. Nigel the manager was great and nothing was too much trouble for him, There are a variety... More

We booked online last minute because of the fantastic snow and were not disappointed. The rooms were well maintained and clean, we had a well cooked and plentiful breakfast. The staff were very friendly, the cost was a bit more than we usually pay but it was last minute booking. We ate at the Thai restaurant twice good tasty food... More

The lodge was very comfortable, albeit a little small. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with tips for where to eat etc. in the village. The lodge is well positioned and within walking distance to the Kosciuszko Mountain express and Snowgums chairlifts, as well as many restaurants in the village. The cooked breakfast in the morning was... More

With over 20 years experience skiing at Thredbo and staying in a wide range of accommodation types our stay at Alpenhorn was easily the worst. It is so far below anything we ever encountered at Thredbo or any ski resort in the world. We had made a last minute decision to go skiing with genuine top to bottom snow. As... More

I booked four months in advance and paid 20% more than those who booked at the last minute. Felt cheated when I was then relegated to a small cramped room at the furtherest point at the very back of the lodge. When I complained, the staff organised a move to a still small but well appointed room with a great... More
