From the communication pre-visit to the reception to our departure was pleasureable. The accommodation far exceeded our expectations as did the continental breakfast.Summertime in Thredbo is delightful and along with our congenial hosts added to a memorable stay for us and our Canadian friends. Hopefully I will return sooner than later and would stay at the Candlelight Lodge.

The room, location and view were all good. Wifi does not work in the rooms as advertised but only if you sit on the stairway close to the reception office. The office was not manned and it was difficult to contact anyone. There are only three parking spaces! Breakfast had no hot or cooked options and didn't open until 7:30... More

Stayed as a family of 4 in summer. Excellent location - easy access to centre of village and chair lifts. Not much parking but that makes perfect sense in Thredbo. Lodge has an old world alpine charm to it with a lovely bar and restaurant with magnificent views - albeit closed during the summer except for breakfast. Our family room... More

Stayed 3 nights for the Thredbo Blue's Festival - and given it was a busy weekend we were given a reasonable rate; especially as we 'thought' that a full breakfast and parking would be provided. John (the owner) was pleasant and helpful on our arrival and had allocated a larger family room to us; though given there was just two... More

Not flash but comfortable friendly and all round pleasant stay. The place suited me . The hosts were friendly and helpful with advice on our stay. Had a very nice meal next door. Enjoyed our walks around Thredbo and Kosciuszko. Would love to join the people catching the chair lift to the top and riding the bikes back down. Lots... More

A supposed Tyrolean hotel without the charme of the places and people of Austria. The innkeeper were not friendly. The room was poorly furnished. The Kosciuszko National Park is not attractive in summer and Thredbo, where the Candlelight Lodge is, is not attractive although interesting for his history linked with European settlers.

We arrived a little early to check in but we able to go to our rooms. Rooms all comfortable and quiet. Well built with little or no noise between rooms. Fittings were a little tired but all clean and functional...suited the mountain lodge theme very well. Continental breakfast was generous and we were able to eat a little earlier to... More

Had a great 3 night stay in quiet and comfortable rooms with a lovely view. Hosts were very friendly and were more than patient with kids asking for different PS3 games, which was all included. Scored a parking bay and so didn't dare move the car until we were driving out, but all good as there is so much to... More

We only spent one night, should have been longer. It was like staying in the Alps, very traditionally Swiss to look at. The hosts were very helpful and friendly, breakfast was great with a fantastic outlook. Its very central to the town, but car parking was slightly awkward. Lovely views, lovely place. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

We were pleasantly surprised by the size of our room/unit - space is at a premium in Thredbo! The staff were friendly, helpful and non-intrusive. And the rooms don't face West - a major consideration - no overbearing afternoon heat. Not many rooms either - so small and intimate. We will do our best to stay at Candlelight Lodge again... More
