Though an older style lodge the bathroom had been updated. We would have preferred a shower not over the bath, however it was spotless, and that is most important. Alison and Andy were most helpful and full of information.

Picking up a summer discount package for our recent 5 night stay in Thredbo Village, the Candlelight Lodge did remind us somewhat of the Cuckoo Restaurant in the Dandenong Ranges. Both very 1950's Bavarian decor. As to be expected from accommodation built in 1957, the Candlelight does show it's age inn places, but the rooms and dining area and were... More

My partner and I stayed at candlelight lodge for a long weekend in April. It was an older style hotel which was comfortable, clean, warm with modern bathroom and small older balcony to enjoy the views. Alison (admin) was very helpful and accommodating on arrival and helped us plan our weekend. Plenty of resources to plan your stay. Continental breakfast... More

We stay here recently for a 2 night stay on a rainy weekend - make that very rainy weekend. This lodge is very poorly designed for snowy or wet weather. I am used to Austrian huts with their toro ken rooms to dry boots socks and rain gear. No equivalent here either in the room or the lodge. The bathroom... More

Loved it here, got a big room with a balcony.. would have loved to sit in the bar and eat at the hotel as well - both unfortunately 'out of service'. Manager was extremely friendly and the whole Thredbo experience really nice - would love to come back and can definitely recommend spending some days here, we only had 1... More

Big room, friendly staff, good position - needed a bathmat, and we had an ear-piercing high pitched whistle in our room whenever someone was in the shower of the room above. I would happily stay there again though. The restaurant is not open in Summer.

We just stayed in Candlelight Lodge for 7 days, and could not have felt more welcome! Our room was extremely large with a brilliant view of the slopes. The continental breakfast was included, and had everything we could have wanted. The managers were always on hand, and gave us tips on restaurants and were very friendly. I would recommend Candlelight... More

From the communication pre-visit to the reception to our departure was pleasureable. The accommodation far exceeded our expectations as did the continental breakfast.Summertime in Thredbo is delightful and along with our congenial hosts added to a memorable stay for us and our Canadian friends. Hopefully I will return sooner than later and would stay at the Candlelight Lodge.

The room, location and view were all good. Wifi does not work in the rooms as advertised but only if you sit on the stairway close to the reception office. The office was not manned and it was difficult to contact anyone. There are only three parking spaces! Breakfast had no hot or cooked options and didn't open until 7:30... More

Hi there and sorry to take so long to respond and are just reviewing and answering a few comments now and have to say that the period of your stay was when I was there looking after things when our full time managers were away on holidays. Late in 2014 we upgraded our wifi to a new system where we... More

Stayed as a family of 4 in summer. Excellent location - easy access to centre of village and chair lifts. Not much parking but that makes perfect sense in Thredbo. Lodge has an old world alpine charm to it with a lovely bar and restaurant with magnificent views - albeit closed during the summer except for breakfast. Our family room... More

Sorry for the late response but am undertaking a run of responding and it was indeed welcoming to receiving your glowing comments and we try hard to run a family friendly lodge. In reading your comments about parking I do take this opportunity to remind everyone that Thredbo is a ski resort by winter and hence in the initial town... More
