I have just spent my second trip to Pinetrees and they just never let you down. Apart from the amazing crystal clear ocean, incredible walks and breath taking snorkeling and scuba diving the food oh glorious food. Pinetrees is a 5 star rating when it comes to their food. From the morning 8am breakfast call to the 7.30 dinner its... More

My first visit to Pinetrees lodge was 20 years ago. Back then the lodge was smaller, accommodation was fairly basic but the food was fantastic. so when we planned a return trip, we booked into Pinetrees without considering anywhere else. Our second visit was enjoyable but I felt did not represent good value. The prices had increased a lot, and... More

Our family visited Lord Howe Island in December 2014 and our stay at Pinetrees was amazing. It is a lovely family-owned lodge, with extremely friendly staff. Pinetrees seems the ideal place for families with kids. With that said, there were many older people who had been there before (often many times!) and also love the place. It was great to... More

This was our first trip to Lord Howe and the island and Pinetrees blew us all away. We were a group of 6 ranging in age from 5 to 77 and everyone had a good time. Staff at Pinetrees are super accommodating (patience of saints with some of the requests/complaints.... the entitled sure know how to make themselves heard!)... anyhoo,... More

We stayed for 5 nights in December for our 25th wedding anniversary. The staff are absolutely wonderful, from Lea who picked us up at the airport and sorted out our QANTAS vouchers due to one of our bags not making the flight, to Bridget who so kindly loaned us Dunlop Volleys from their stock as we were shoeless (due to... This lodge deserves the best rating. But if you want a quiet, stress free vacation, forget it. Australian families frequent the lodge and they seem not to care if their kids/babies annoy other guests. Running along the walkways, talking loudly, we saw and heard them at breakfast, lunch, tea, and during the day. This notwithstanding, we were in room 34... More

We are a group of three friends, which came to Lord Howe Island and the Pine Tree Lodge for the second time. First to a week of Photography and daily walks, second for a Yoga week. We stayed in the renovated rooms and you can not ask for much more. Perhaps they match not with the upmarket lodges, I do... More

Pinetrees is a little corner of beauty on an island of truly unspoilt paradise on the doorstep of mainland Australia. To begin with the rooms, many recently renovated whilst simple are beautifully finished and suited to a relaxation away... no tv, no "connectivity" so if keeping in touch is your thing... well frankly Lord Howe may not be your thing!... Lord Howe Island makes for an amazing holiday but would suggest looking elsewhere for accommodation. Room was very basic and had old stained carpet. Have stayed in more luxurious accommodation in motels. To pick a work to summarize, dingy seems most apt. Food was inclusive and of variable quality with timed meals more in keeping with a military camp. Would... More

We're sorry to hear that you didn't have the positive Pinetrees experience that most reviewers have. Was there any reason why you waited 8 months to post your only Tripadvisor review? In any case, we completed major renovations in August 2014 and have just won the People's Choice Award for 'Best Affordable Resort in Australia' run by Australian Traveller Magazine. More
