Great central location and a thoughtful host. Nice and clean with good amenities. Don't be fooled by the older exterior this motel is well worth its tarrif. Host 'Kaye' went our of her way to make a traveller welcome even with a late arrival.

Stayed 3 nights for a sightseeing trip to the Ridge. For the price range this motel is fantastic. The rooms are on the small size but very serviceable. Our room had a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery, plates and mugs (not the little tiny ones, but a decent size mug). Compared to the room size the bathroom was spacious with... More

Probably the first motel built at the "Ridge" and a trip back in time to about the '70's as it wasn't there in the late '60's when we last visited. A small but friendly lot of 9 units run by lifetime local Kay who is helpful and friendly. Right in the middle of town and across from the local club... More

We stayed for one night on our way to Queensland. The room was small but had everything you need, including microwave for a short stay and situated within easy walking distance of shops. Friendly proprietor and would stay again if travelling to lightning ridge again.

This Motel was excellent value for money. Our room was very clean, comfortable & cosy. It is also very well situated, being just a short stroll from supermarket, eateries & specialty shops. The in room microwave oven was very handy for frozen meals when we didn't feel up to dining out. Proprietor was very friendly & helpful, with many tips... More

We had the pleasure of staying at this little Motel for a night on our way home to Brisbane. We had been travelling for 10 days and this was by far the best accommodation we stayed in on our whole holiday. Kaye is a beautiful lady who is really friendly and helpful. She put us on the right track with... More

Had a great time at the easter festival Fantastic spot right in the middle of town. Room were clean and tidy. Nothing was too much trouble for them, had full use of the bbq area and the bowling club across the road to boot. Thank's for the great memories Of our trip Lightning Ridge. Cheers Frank

Bluey's is a reasonably priced option in Lightning Ridge.. Very reasonably priced in fact. Architecturally its got a 1960s feel to it but in opal mining country so are all the old trucks dotting the landscape. The lady running it.. Kay, was really nice and most helpful and friendly. The rooms although getting on a bit were lovely and clean... More

The motel is just ok, but it is a small town in the middle of nowhere. The price is high, but there is little competition. The entire town closes at 5pm. We got frozen lasagna at the local IGA and microwaved it in our room for dinner.

I am sorry these people did not enjoy Blueys and our unique town--maybe they didn`t stay long enough. Our motel is one of the cheapest in town and displays prices at the front of the motel for all to see--they are standard prices--not from prices. The entire town does not close down at 5 pm. Most shops are open until... More
