My son and I visited Coonabarabran for two nights sharing the same passion of astrology. Upon arrival the receptionist was very friendly and accommodating, we were placed in room number 27 (righthand corner) a twin share room Queen and a single bed. The room is a bit outdated but clean, it has coffee making facilities, a bar fridge and a... More

This place is just nasty. We arrived exhausted from our trip from Victoria and on entering the room, found everything unplugged, so we went about plugging everything in. It stunk of Dog pee on the carpet and the bed covers. The bathroom is from 1971, looks like a Brady Bunch nightmare! I guess having experienced roadtrips in America and the... More

This motel is a great little find! They provide everything to make your stay with a pet as comfortable and as friendly as possible. And the restaurant is terrific. Very reasonably priced, food is fabulous and the service is outstanding. Easy to find on the Newell the rooms were spacious and quiet. Highly recommended.

Old. Dated. Smallish rooms are designated pet rooms but very clean. Our dogs loved it each time we have stayed here - about 6 times in 3 years. There is now a perfect little secure fenced area where they can sit outside instead of in the room. Dog rooms come with dog bowls, placemats, poo bags etc. They used to... More

Have stayed here before as a stopver to Queensland. Very comfortable and quiet and not treated like a second class citzen with dogs. I would recommend this Motel to people travelling with pets. They also make a great pizza and are very frendy staff.

Stayed the night for business reasons. The rooms are moderate and comfortable. WiFi is strong in the office area but once your in your motel room it's very weak to non existent. It's annoying as I'm sure they are aware of the problem.

I had hoped to write separate reviews for the motel and the restaurant but they don't have separate listings in Trip Advisor. I'll try to keep them separate in this review, though. The motel. This motel has been around for a while - I remember staying here from time to time over the last 30 years. However, the rooms appear... More

Matthew Flinders was held captive on Mauritius for 7 years. His eponymous hotel is pretty much captive to the 70's...smaller rooms than more modern places, limited bathroom storage, limited wardrobe space, but with plenty of flat surface in the room to make up. It is on the highway, but traffic noise does not intrude. The restaurant represents good value in... More

We decided to break our trip from Griffith to Brisbane by staying in Coonabarabran, that was a mistake on this occasion. We eventually chose the Mathew Flinders. Rooms dated but clean and tidy. At the time of booking we chose to settle the account as we were leaving early next morning. At midnight the power was off, no air-con was... More

We only stayed one night but were treated with utmost respect. Air conditioner & fans were already on at our arrival making automatically welcome. We had a power cut during our stay (the whole town was out) but our cooked breakfast still arrived on time and HOT, cooked by torchlight on a gas stove - now THAT'S customer service!
