Byron Bay is so expensive - we ideally wanted a seaside place but they were way out of our budget unless you wanted backpackers. So we opted to be a little out of town with Planular - def a great choice. It was lovely - bush setting, very peaceful - probably a lot like the real Byron Bay used to... more

Thank you Tim and Wandy for opening up your piece of paradise to travellers! I LOVE Planula, and I didn't want to leave! I stayed 4 nights and I could happily have stayed 4 weeks. The accomodation was lovely and quiet, just the sounds of the rainforest to lull me to sleep at night. I adored being out on the... more

I have just spent 4 amazing nights at this place. It's located about 2km out of Byron Bay so ideally you need a car, otherwise you can hire a bicycle and ride into town. It is a very long walk to town - about 40 mins - especially in the heat. Belongil Beach is a gorgeous beach about a 20... more

Planula is conveniently located just out of town. BUT be very careful what you book – we were given a TINY upstairs attic room, next to the roof - no ceiling, no shelves, very little room around bed. (If we wanted a tiny room we would book into a cheap motel!) When we protested, hostess Wandy found us a better... more

We were very disappointed to see your review as we aim for all our guests to leave happy and rested. After your initial complaint that you weren't happy with the booked room we offered you a free upgrade to our deluxe spa room downstairs. If we would have been aware of your knee problem we would have made sure you...

We stayed for three nights at the Planula close to Byron Bay. Wandy and Tim are very nice hosts, friendly and taking care of people. We had the room with the spa bathtub, which was a great thing, especially after a day of diving! There is continental breakfast in a nice ktchen with the option to cook lunch/dinner yourselves, there... more

My wife and I stayed for two nights at Planula at the end of a two week road trip round Queensland and Northern NSW. We were looking for a clean, quiet B&B close to Byron Bay, and found Planula on the web. The reviews impressed us and we booked online. Great decision! Clean room, excellent en-suite, FREE wireless Internet, and... more

Staying at Planula was one of our best decisions in AU yet! We loved the idea of staying in a house where we could relax with a book or our laptops (free and fast internet is a rarity in AU) on the patio or on the couch. Breakfasts were filling and delicious and you have complete access to the kitchen... more

Planula was so fantastic and just what i was looking for - close to Byron but not in Byron, quiet, relaxing and non-intrusive with everything i needed close by. I loved biking to the beach close by which was uncrowded and heaps better than Byron's main beach. Free Wireless Internet was an added bonus as was Yoga at the temple... more

We have both enjoyed our stay at Planula thoroughly, we wish we could stay for longer than a week! The lush, tropical surroundings are so beautiful, we couldn't imagine being able to get anything else like this in town. There is plenty of space on the big deck that overlooks the trees and a beautiful pond. The room we stayed... more

In a nut shell.....B&B should stand for bed and bugs. This place is down a dirt road in the middle of the woods. So if you like spiders, bugs, frogs and a 5 am wake-up call from the cookaburra's then this place is for you. The breakfast consists of toast and coffee. I'm not a picky traveller, but this just... more
