We decided fairly late to stay at Rae's on Watego's and so the only room left was the Garden Suite. It is their cheapest room but still costs $330 per night mid week. It was raining when we arrived so we had to wait inside the small entry area - and stand and wait we did - for 30 minutes... More

It was a pretty blowy day when we lunched at Rae's and we were seated snugly in the back corner away from the wind. We opted for the set price winter special of 2 courses and a glass of wine which was plenty for a lunch-time meal. Our entrees of calamari and balmain bugs were served with an Asian twist... More

Seven of us booked into Raes for dinner, very disappointed, Clam Chowder starter was ridiculously small with numerous Clams that weren't opened. Our mains took 2 hours to come out to us, even though the Restaurant was not that busy for a Sat night. It was a shame there was no background music for some ambiance and one of the... More

Have only been to Rae's for lunch and I have to say it was flawless. Attentive service and the seafood curry was insane . Large group of us and everyone enjoyed all aspects of the lunch. Beautiful spot and good value. I will return.

You can tell that this was once a grand lady, but has lost some of its shine. There was rust on the sign "Raes" and some of the wooden shutters could do with an oil. It is nevertheless still graceful and beautiful. If you are looking for corporate style perfection, this is not the place for you. If you are... More

This truly is a unique style of accommodation, in a wonderful way. The old world charm of the rooms and common areas are delightful & more-ish, as are each of the dishes at the well-priced restaurant. It is hard to find such atmosphere in many similar establishments globally now, due to the lack of historical respect when hotels are refurbished... More

I have stayed many times over the years and see they have returned to their boutique neatness. The present hotel team are very personable and enthusiastic a good 4.5 out of 5 but not a patch on the excellent houseman Brett or Bert? of 5-6 years ago. He was the perfect host able to give intelligent and witty repartee...all panache... More

Rae's met every expectation. Anyone looking for a typical resort type stay should move on. Raes is much more tasteful than that. Respectful, attentive service/assistance is always on hand, the rooms are indulgent rather than 'stock standard' resort variety, the dining is appropriate to the total experience, the pool is lovely (more so than just large) ... and the location... We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday with a weekend at Rae's. We could not have been happier with the position, the service and our magnificent room. We had read that Rae's was getting a bit 'tired' and is due for a renovation. Although it is getting older, there is something magical and timeless about Rae's old world charm. We hope... More

Great property...great rooms....and the restaurant is still good....we recently stayed there with a group of friends and the restaurant produced the finest fish green curry I have had anywhere in Australia...so much so I had it for lunch three days in a row. The rooms were well appointed...try not to get the room next to or near the pool out... More
