I recently visited Byron Bay with a couple of girlfriends, although I had previously gone for less well known places. We stayed in a loft room here, which was perfect for the three of us - a huge spacious room with a large balcony and views of the bay (we even saw dolphins!). We made good use of the room... more

we've just spent 3 nights at this hotel. We had a garden room which at $195 (Approx £95) we though to be good value, this included a continental breakfast. the room was very large and well decorated and furnished and opened onto the garden with the pool a few feet further on. Byron has got to be one of our... more

Having wanted to stay there since visiting Byron 18 years ago, we booked in to our room on the first floor with a balcony with a glimpse of the ocean. Large room was very outdated (maybe exactly as it was 18 years ago!) For the very high room charge we would have expected to have bath robes, a room safe... more

This hotel really relies upon its location to charge extremely high rates ($500pn for a motel room!) in very tired and dated rooms. I do not think a cent has been spent on the rooms since the hotel opened many years ago. There was no extra charge made for the rat running around in the reception area howver! more

I have been to Byron Bay many times before and always enjoyed my time there. However, after my latest trip I will think twice about returning (specifically to the Beach Hotel). With its prime location, the Beach Hotel has the potential to be one of the best hotels in Australia. That is, until you actually stay there. Never have I... more

We were led to believe this was the best palce to stay... What a rude surprise we received. Rude staff, inept service and filthy rooms. Byron Bay desrves better from the "benchmark" hotel. This place simply thrives oof its location and reputation. DO NOT stay there. Over priced and terrible. more

Having visited Byron Bay over half a dozen times and only spending time drinking at the Beach Hotel, I thought it was time to stay there. After a long drive from Sydney, our check in was quick and we were shown upstairs to our nice spacious Garden room. The bed was comfortable and the sliding door, which opened out to... more

My wife and I stayed 5 nights at the Beach Hotel in April 2008. As the bedroom roof leaked on the second night of our stay, with water dripping onto our bed during the night, it is most unlikely that this review will be replete with praise and commendations for the hotel - and it isn't. But to be fair... more
