This is located a bit of a walk from town but they provide a shuttle bus to the beach and into town at night. It's a fun hostel and very friendly . It's set in a local housing estate. Some of the locals don't seem to like tourist too much even though we provide most of the income. Would recommend... More

A little bit out of the way but they run a shuttle bus which is great! However the place is a little run down... My friend had some bits taken from the kitchen too! They allow you to take your own drinks which is great but there are more smokers than drinkers- not really an issue but we did feel... More

The main positive of this hostel is that there's a free shuttle from the greyhound stop as the hostel is about a 20 minute walk from the centre of Byron. The hostel is very basic, the rooms and the bathrooms are not the cleanest - the mattress and pillows in the double room were pretty stained and dirty. Enjoy...

Cbl is great value! The hostel is a bit out of the citycentre, but they have a van to take you to town, every 30 mins or so. Also they have bicycles for lend, that way it's about 10 mins. There is a free pancake breakfast and free wifi, which is great. The rooms and shared spaces are fine. The... More

Contrary to some of the reviews on here, I find the lodge to be pretty much ideal. If you want a good value place in Byron bay, filled with great people, then here you go. Located 2 minutes from Tallows (arguably the most beautiful beach EVER), and 5 minutes out of town (ideal for a good night's sleep), I think... More

Yes, it's a bit out of town. If you aren't lazy it's no real fuss! If you are, then there is a free shuttle regularly. Seriously though, it's great value considering that (in winter) you get a free pancake, tea and coffee brekkie and free wifi all year round! Room was great (all girls 8 bed, met some great mates!)... This hostel was my favorite going up the east coast in Aus. There is a laidback feel and everyone I met here was easy to get along with. The only real con is that the hostel is about 15-20 min walk from the township whereas most hostels are 5 min, but they do have a shuttle for you. Free wifi... More

So it is a 15-20 min walk from hostel to the main part of town which is ok if you're not carrying your stuff. There is a shuttle that goes in and out of town almost every hour but it does fill up quick- pick up in town is by the noodle box where all the busses drop off ppl... More

Getting to the beach/center is quite a hike, even though its not to bad to make the lighthouse walk. but at least there is a shuttle. The rooms were quite dark and small. in our room was someone staying for already a month which you could definitely smell… we had to leave at 8:30am (for the bus) so it was... More
