Its an average hostel, kind of something different. Liked that they had a cafe with healthy juices and food. And the bathrooms were nice. But I am not impressed by the rest, maybe it would be different if you stay there for a while.

This is definitely different than most hostels. It felt like an American summer camp. Beautiful set up. I stayed in the girls lake lodge. It was really nice with an attached full bathroom. The only negative id add is that checkin isn't until 2. They're strict on this and they make you pay $3 to store your luggage. Oh well.

Thanks Nina for taking the time to respond. Sorry about the check in at 2 pm, but it takes us that long to get the rooms clean because we are such a big hostel, ditto for the luggage storage. Anyway, so glad you enjoyed staying with us and glad to hear you will be coming back! Happy travels :-) More

If you have a good sense of adventure and want a fun different experience then stay here! If you expect a quiet 5*hotel with a tv then don't stay here. I loved it here! I stayed in the 10 person teepee! So much fun, ok there is no lock on the door or a infact a door but I never... More

I stayed in this hostel a month ago and managed to get robbed in the hostel on my second day. When enquired at the reception for security cameras etc the staff said "people are always getting robbed here" and offered absolutely no assistance whatsoever. I tried to speak to management who could possibly help but in the end the police... More

Dear Ellie, I am sorry to hear you had an awful experience. As the long term manager, I can honestly say I haven't been contacted by the police about any theft. I work 5 days per week, and my assistant manager works when I am not there. We are available every day for guests, so this seems odd that there... More

Stayed here for two nights in June whilst travelling up the east coast. First night we stayed in a double room. It was like a prison cell and freezing. The noise was beyond a joke and went on all night. No eat plugs available until the morning which seems silly. We then moved to a posh tent thing for the... More

Only downfall is the 10 min walk in town but you can usually get the free bus anyway from hostel. It's fun and you can drink wherever you want. You can stay in tepees which is a one off experience which is awesome. There is normal rooms too and camping. It's a hippy vibe that's really fun with the pool... More

If you are a hippie or druggie you will love this place. If you're an easy going backpacker who will give things a go and open up to the hippie way of life you'll also enjoy it. We only stayed one night and found the people a bit intimidating, but we could appreciate the good facilities and the different experience

Thanks for your comments James. I am sorry to hear you felt a bit intimidated, if you dig in a little it is really friendly! FYI - we don't encourage drugs or druggy's, although there might be a few stoners around after a Nimbin tour! Happy travels :-) More

Atmosphere was ok - really cool workshops. other than that, prices were too high for the quality of the facilities. Showers are too far away. location in Byron isn't good. I would recommend other hostels

I stayed in the female teepee and shared it with 7 others. It was really different to a normal hostel...as it's a teepee but pretty cool. It does get quite cold and when there's people partying you do hear most of it so buy some ear plugs. The communal area is great for hanging out, listening to music and having... More

Dear Dale, Than you for taking the time to write a review, we are glad to hear you enjoyed your time staying with us. Just to let you know, the reason we get ID for a pot or pan is because otherwise no one washes them up, and the kitchen is left with dirty pots and pans, which is awful.... More

As someone who usually goes for the luxury style accommodation, I was surprised at how much I actually liked this place. We stayed in the main tepee near the beach volleyball court. We visited for a girls weekend. Accommodation was clean enough to crash each night and the communal style bathrooms were clean and usable - no complaints. Security was... More
