We have just returned from a night at the old stone house and feel compelled to write to contradict the mean spirited review on Jan26. Yes the bed is suitably squeaky, it's a 4 poster, but we found it very comfortable. Yes the owners are present, they live there for goodness sake, and they were kind enough to share a... More

We have stayed here when it was owned by the previous owners and could not wait to visit again. Our first stay at the Old Stone house was a wonderful experience and we were treated like royalty and left to enjoy the beautiful house and grounds of an historic treasure. Unfortunately, the same could not be said this time around.... More

So much better than a hotel room in Canberra. Absolutely takes you back in time. Great hosts with many interesting personal pieces. The most beautiful gardens to relax in and wander around. Lovely log fire with pre dinner port before a short stroll into Bungendore to the local Italian and the fire waiting for our return and more port and... More

I have been doing a lot of International travel over the last seven years staying at all manner of hotels mainly throughout the opulent middle east. Those hotels have spent a fortune in attempting to give them a character or feeling of class. None of them come close to the wonderful Old Stone House (OSH) in Bungendore. Part of the... More

The best welcome by hosts and gorgeous room and bathroom. Linen superb and the bed very comfy. Amazing breakfast and atmosphere by Rachel. What a pleasure to meet her. Only downside was the close proximity to the road and traffic in the morning. For me that took the value from $220 to $ 150 so felt it overpriced.

Stayed at this beautifully restored historic home and enjoyed the luxurious accommodation which allowed a great rest after dinner at the 'bottom pub'. Deb's breakfast with home made Bircher muesli and beautifully fresh poached eggs was a marvel. Highly recommended.

We stayed at The Old Stone House on 27 July 2013. Our room was the Elm Room, which had a very comfy double bed and the most beautiful bath I have ever seen! Debbie and John are lovely hosts, and the included breakfast was superb. We will be back!

We went for a quick break but decided to only go so far as Bungendore (30 mins from home). The stonehouse was lovely - a piece of history with real charm. Rachael was fantastic and the hospitality she showed us was more than we could ask for. There are some great spots to eat, drink and see around Bungendore so... More

A recent stay in this remarkable and eclectic B&B shows that the TA reviews of old are way out of date. Of course there are locks on the room doors (not that we ever thought we needed them) and there is every bit of hospitality and kindness that you could wish for. From the greeting by Rachel, and being presented... More
