This is a truly beautiful place to stay - beautiful rooms, lovely bed & a wonderful bath! Beautiful gardens & breakfasts, and the loveliest hosts you will ever meet. So energies & friendly. And they have pets to mingle with if you are an animal lover - but they are not intrusive either. Just has everything! Will be back -... More

A stay in the Old Stone House is a delight. The building is full of character. There are extensive gardens and pleasant nooks in which to sit outside. The afternoon tea and imaginative breakfast are delicious. Bungendore itself is interesting. The Stone House is in walking distance of the village. This is a great place to stay, especially if en... My husband and I just spent 2 nights here with my elderly parents. It was a return visit for them and a first for us. We found the place absolutely charming in an old-worldly way. Our hosts, Debbie, John and their daughter Rachel were very warm and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. A big roaring log fire was the... More

We have just returned from a night at the old stone house and feel compelled to write to contradict the mean spirited review on Jan26. Yes the bed is suitably squeaky, it's a 4 poster, but we found it very comfortable. Yes the owners are present, they live there for goodness sake, and they were kind enough to share a... More

We have stayed here when it was owned by the previous owners and could not wait to visit again. Our first stay at the Old Stone house was a wonderful experience and we were treated like royalty and left to enjoy the beautiful house and grounds of an historic treasure. Unfortunately, the same could not be said this time around.... More

So much better than a hotel room in Canberra. Absolutely takes you back in time. Great hosts with many interesting personal pieces. The most beautiful gardens to relax in and wander around. Lovely log fire with pre dinner port before a short stroll into Bungendore to the local Italian and the fire waiting for our return and more port and... More

I have been doing a lot of International travel over the last seven years staying at all manner of hotels mainly throughout the opulent middle east. Those hotels have spent a fortune in attempting to give them a character or feeling of class. None of them come close to the wonderful Old Stone House (OSH) in Bungendore. Part of the... More

The best welcome by hosts and gorgeous room and bathroom. Linen superb and the bed very comfy. Amazing breakfast and atmosphere by Rachel. What a pleasure to meet her. Only downside was the close proximity to the road and traffic in the morning. For me that took the value from $220 to $ 150 so felt it overpriced.
