We stayed overnight as a short break form Canberra life. We where welcomed by a lovely man with a cute little dog in a coat, complimentary drinks and room warmed up before we arrived. The room is lovely with high ceilings and a really nice little kitchenette and bathroom. You can just leave your car and walk over the road... More

My husband and I just wanted somewhere close to just GET AWAY for a couple of days. We wanted somewhere, warm, cosy, quiet, a bit of luxury , and hopefully a log fire. Well we didn't get the log fire in our room, but at the cosy cafe, "The Blind Duck" just across the road, where we ate most of... More

Stayed overnight in family room. Generous size room and very comfy beds. No outside traffic noises. Lights and heating were on to welcome us. Very very friendly and helpful staff. Some minor maintenance/updating needed but did not effect our stay. Look forward to returning.

We arrived much later than indicated but this proved no problem to management. We were warmly welcomed with calm and generous friendliness. A great location to have a break from Canberra. The spa suite was superb.

My partner and I stayed at the Carrington Inn in April for a weekend away from university. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Though their restaurant was closed for renovations, the owner was more than happy to point us towards wonderful places to eat. He addressed any questions we had in a polite and informative way, and also provided us... More

A lovely night in Bungendore! Richard kindly left our key in a locked box so we could check in late after a fantastic dinner at Le Tres Bon nearby. Seamless key collection, and we easily found our room along the courtyard, which had been thoughtfully pre-warmed. Nice cosy room with - my fav e- beautiful crisp white linen on the... More

My partner and I booked this hotel at the last minute over the Easter Long weekend as most of the accomodation in Canberra was booked out. We got the Spa suite for a very reasonable price. The inn is cute, charming and clean. All rooms are surrounded by lush green courtyards. The receptionist/manager/owner perhaps was delightful to deal with and... More

We stopped off in Bungedore on drive from Sydney to Melbourne. The spacious rooms at the Carrington Inn was perfect for my two young children. Our host, Richard, was the most welcoming of people and was very friendly. He even dropped Easter eggs around to the room. Would definitely stay there again.

We were traveling back to Melbourne, saw The Carrington from the road and booked in fairly late at night. Our host was very welcoming and saw to all our needs. He made sure the room was warm. We would like to stay there again.

Great for a weekend getaway. Close to everything you need in Bungendore. Room was neat and spacious, a little dated but still plenty of county charm - I believe the new owner is planning a refurb soon anyway. Comfy bed and good amenities. The restaurant is under going a refit so was not open but our package included Dinner at... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Established in 1885, The Carrington Inn has enjoyed a colourful and adventurous life. Initially a coaching inn for travellers on the Cobb & Co route the Carrington has in its century and a half existence, also been a general store and a private residence. In the 1980's it was lovingly restored as the Inn's warm and hospitable dining restaurant and the cornerstone to our good conference and accommodation facilities on the five acre property. We are very proud to offer the Carrington to you as a homely place to celebrate, relax, unwind, or stay. Our specialty is to cater for meetings and celebrations of between 15 and 60 people. The Carrington Inn environment is perfect for events where it is important to stay focused and not distracted by external noise, intrusiveness, or unpleasantness. The Inn is a foundation piece of Bungendore, a thriving country town with good food, boutique shops, arts, crafts, and Australian heritage. It's a small town and easy to get around on foot, while being welcomed everywhere you go. The Carrington Inn is just 35 minutes by car from Parliament House and 30 minutes from Canberra International Airport. It is beautifully located so as to enjoy the museums and culture of our national capital, the wineries and crafts of the region, while having a base that is comfortable, safe and hospitable. It is the perfect staging post for adventures in the cool climate wine country of the Southern Tablelands, or trips to the coast (90 minutes - East), or the snow (3 hours - South). The Carrington Inn has 26 well-appointed rooms each with kitchenette, air conditioning, flat screen television, phone, and WiFi. Many of our rooms have private gardens and some have relaxing spa baths. Off-street parking is free. All our buildings and gardens support disabled access. PLEASE NOTE: OUR RESTAURANT IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING REFURBISHMENT and is closed. It will reopen with an exciting new menu and decor later in the year. In the meantime, there are other lovely local restaurants and cafes who will treat Carrington Inn guests as we would ourselves. ... more   less
