The new owners have done well to resurrect the flagging reputation of the Carrington. Much has been done to improve the rooms and ours was cosy, clean and comfortable with recently refurbished inclusions. The staff are knowledgable, pleasant and helpful once again (our second stay in 3 months), and we will be making the Carrington our base for future excusions... More

I agreed to the Carrington as a wedding venue from the other side of the world, so I had to bite my lip a bit on arrival. Bungendore is a small old town with a few interesting places to wander to and the Carrington a large motel in the middle of it. Their setting is lovely, and they have a... More

We were impressed with the new owners courtesy and positive outlook in taking-on this rather large facility. We paid $139.00 and stayed in a Queen Double Room, No. 19, and we found the room to be clean, extremely spacious with a large TV, comfortable lounge & bed and good shower/toilet & kitchenette facilities. We found the raked timber ceilings appealing... More

They have new managment I think the bad reviews must be from before them as we just stayed there and it was nice. Rooms were comfy and spacious only thought was there could have been a microwave but everything else was good and the bed was really comfortable. Reception lady was nice and welcoming. We had booked elsewhere as the... More

Before I booked Carrington, I read a lot of bad reviews of this hotel with pictures online, so bad that I do NOT want to book it all all, but I need to book it because the workshop I came to attend said I had to because of convenient pick up's sake, so I booked. It turned out that it... More

We booked a room based on what was represented as a charming and up-market country hotel. On arrival the place was shut and indeed had been closed for months, if not years. No restaurant, no bar, no service. The room was available after we found the friendly owner but was tired and in serious need of a revamp but still... More

I can't speak to the current quality of the establishment as I did not get a chance to stay there this time. They cancelled my 4 night stay during the Christmas break (booked and paid in full three months in advance) on a weeks notice as the owner had decided to close over Christmas for renovations. The owner was completely... More

We stayed recently with a group of friends, booked a dinner, bed & breakfast package. when we arrived we were informed that the restaurant was closed & we would need to go elsewhere. The owner made this booking knowing full well that he would not be able to deliver. FIRST MISTAKE ( we were given breakfast vouchers for a nearby... More

Stayed overnight recently with a group of friends. On arrival, the hotel looks lovely and full of character. On closer inspection though - the grounds need attention (lawns need mowing, weeding needs to be done, paint peeling), were asked for credit card details to cover incidentals (even though the room had no mini bar), bathroom had two dripping taps and... Charged 4 star rate for below standard service and tidiness and maintenance of room, building and grounds. Lovely older colonial styled motel, rooms we saw were generously proportioned. Bed was very comfortable, good tv, room had sofa and table and chairs, small kitchenette, bathroom a good size. BUT inside and out the place needed a lot of attention, room smelt... More
