My gosh! We had planned on staying here for my auntys 50th in March. Upon viewing the rooms, which were dirty, dark, dingy and scary - we decided against it. A deposit had been paid, but with no terms and conditions or any paperwork done we asked 6 weeks in advance for a refund. The owner was RUDE, threatening and... More

Stayed one night at Torpys Motel in October 2015. Room was old, carpet felt like it needed a good clean but owner told me they were renovating other rooms and this room was the last on the list. He promised me a renovated room at the same tariff for my next stay! Owner was weird, paced up and down pretending... More

We decided to take another route out of Cooma and found the town of Braidwood which is just lovely. We researched on the internet and found this motel which is just delightful. Andy was so helpful and service was excellent. The rooms were lovely we stayed in the house beautiful rooms with fireplaces. We lit the fire in the front... More

My partner and I regularly travel to Braidwood and have never until now decided to stay, thinking it would be too expensive but one night it got too late and we decided to look for a motel. We rang around and all the hotels and motels in Braidwood didn't have rooms available or so we were told, I found them... More

We stayed in one the motel rooms which had been lovingly renovated by Andy. The room and bed was very comfortable with lovely views across the paddock to a creek. The room comes with a flat screen TV, microwave, toaster, eco friendly tea and coffee making facilities and a full set of crockery and cutlery.

I stayed at Torpy's while working in the area, originally it was only for a couple of days but ended up staying there for a couple of months. Great hospitality and comfortable accommodation made it hard to leave, it was so good that I recommended it to 8 of my co workers who also stayed for an extended time. No... More

Sussed out all the motels in town, this was the clear winner. the thing that stood out the was the service some of the other places were short and in attentive. Definitely recommend. Very enjoyable stay , I don't know how any could give a bad review. Some people just can't enjoy themselves

I stayed at Torpys for just the one night as part of a cycle tour with my adult son. I have stayed there before and was welcomed back by Andy like a long lost friend. We stayed in the main house which is an absolute delight with quality period furniture plus the inclusion of the modern convenience of flat screen... More

Torpy's is interesting, but certainly different. The motel offers different rates depending on how self-sufficient you are prepared to be. By bringing our own towels, linen and pillows, the rate dropped from around $140 to $117 per night. The motel is pretty old and well in need of renovation, and other units' roof-mounted air conditioners were a little noisy, but... More

We stayed for a wedding in a nearby woodshed. Andy was a great host who made sure we were comfortable, and went out of his way to 'recover' our car the next day! The motel is cute and comfortable and represents excellent value right in the lovely romantic town of Braidwood. It also is stiving to be self sufficient, with... More
