I recently stayed here over a weekend with my family. We stayed in the large restored house, and had a wonderful time. The large rooms, antique furniture and homely feel made the stay relaxing and comfortable. The sauna in the corner was a great little bonus! Staff friendly and very helpful. I can highly recommend it to all!

Evening though our stay was short it was very pleasant. The owner Andy was extremely accommodating and helpful. Our room was massive and private. Great price and great little town. It was nice to be able for them to fit us in at such short notice. Thank you Torpy's

Sue and I were on a genealogy trail tracing forebears who were pioneers in the Braidwood , Araluen gold mines in the mid 1800's. We stayed two nights at Torpys, because of it's delightful heritage setting on acreage beside a creek within easy walking of Braidwood town centre. Sue had easy access to the Braidwood Museum, where Ros was so... More

I have, on several occasions, telephoned Torpys Eco Motel. On the first experience I was grunted at by someone who answered my call whilst trying to get accommodation for my parents. I attempted to book and was told nobody was in the office and to call back which I never did. On the second occasion, I telephoned on behalf of... More

This is a great experience with rooms in the Guest House beautifully decked out with period furniture and fittings. Very spacious and comfortable and great tranquil location. Andy, the owner could not do enough to make our stay great. We had 17 in our party so had all the guest house and most of the motel and all had a... More

Torpys Hotel is a throwback to the sixties in this quaint town which has lost much of its population. Eco is a euphemism for home made and somewhat strange with massive Aircon units on the roof. The chalet rooms have comfortable beds and overlook a pleasant garden. The showers are primitive. The owner declares himself at odds with the neighbours.... More

Hi, We loved our evening at this motel of heritage surrounds and decor. The manager was very helpful and thoughtful. The whole place is well appointed. It has a nice country atmosphere. Thanks to the manager for making our stay in Braidwood comfortable and welcoming.

It was clean, comfortable and I enjoyed the extra features which are not genrally found in country accommodation. To top it up, the owner was very friendly and the price is really reasonable I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will return to Torpys.

I have read some of the previous reviews, and simply cannot understand some of them. Our stay at Torpys , in the Historical 1830's house was superb. Andy the owner, went above & beyond in making our stay enjoyable. The house is OLD... so of course it is not pristine and fresh as a new Hotel of 5 Stars would... More

We are on a charity cycle tour around Australia and Torpys Eco Retreat kindly donated us one night accommodation as we passed through Braidwood. The proprietor, Andy, was very friendly and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The Eco Lodge offers discounts to eco-friendly travelers and those trying to reduce their carbon footprint – such as... More
