We stayed in one the motel rooms which had been lovingly renovated by Andy. The room and bed was very comfortable with lovely views across the paddock to a creek. The room comes with a flat screen TV, microwave, toaster, eco friendly tea and coffee making facilities and a full set of crockery and cutlery.

I stayed at Torpy's while working in the area, originally it was only for a couple of days but ended up staying there for a couple of months. Great hospitality and comfortable accommodation made it hard to leave, it was so good that I recommended it to 8 of my co workers who also stayed for an extended time. No... More

Sussed out all the motels in town, this was the clear winner. the thing that stood out the was the service some of the other places were short and in attentive. Definitely recommend. Very enjoyable stay , I don't know how any could give a bad review. Some people just can't enjoy themselves

I stayed at Torpys for just the one night as part of a cycle tour with my adult son. I have stayed there before and was welcomed back by Andy like a long lost friend. We stayed in the main house which is an absolute delight with quality period furniture plus the inclusion of the modern convenience of flat screen... More

Torpy's is interesting, but certainly different. The motel offers different rates depending on how self-sufficient you are prepared to be. By bringing our own towels, linen and pillows, the rate dropped from around $140 to $117 per night. The motel is pretty old and well in need of renovation, and other units' roof-mounted air conditioners were a little noisy, but... More

We stayed for a wedding in a nearby woodshed. Andy was a great host who made sure we were comfortable, and went out of his way to 'recover' our car the next day! The motel is cute and comfortable and represents excellent value right in the lovely romantic town of Braidwood. It also is stiving to be self sufficient, with... More

I wouldn't recommend anyone staying here it's a hole and the guy that owns it is a creep. He lurks the corridors at all ours of the night, cooking up chickens in the house where guests stay at 2am. The accomodation down the back of the premises is horrible, the bathroom in one room had no drainage it was a... More

I recently stayed here over a weekend with my family. We stayed in the large restored house, and had a wonderful time. The large rooms, antique furniture and homely feel made the stay relaxing and comfortable. The sauna in the corner was a great little bonus! Staff friendly and very helpful. I can highly recommend it to all!

Evening though our stay was short it was very pleasant. The owner Andy was extremely accommodating and helpful. Our room was massive and private. Great price and great little town. It was nice to be able for them to fit us in at such short notice. Thank you Torpy's

Sue and I were on a genealogy trail tracing forebears who were pioneers in the Braidwood , Araluen gold mines in the mid 1800's. We stayed two nights at Torpys, because of it's delightful heritage setting on acreage beside a creek within easy walking of Braidwood town centre. Sue had easy access to the Braidwood Museum, where Ros was so... More
