Rooms well appointed, clean and modern. However, ensuite was extremely small, though not a major concern. Hotel environment is classic throughout the shared areas and the large windows in the dining area allows aesthetic views over the surroundings. Buffet breakfast presented with a variety of freshly cooked foods. Location is conducive to a romantic weekend as it is rather isolated,... More

I recently spent the night at Peppers with my husband. When I booked, there was no mention on their website that the restaurant was under renovation. The place was a ghost town. The room was well appointed, however they stuck us in the room furthest from the lobby you could get overlooking the old stables where they now have a... More

It’s unfortunate you didn't have a great experience at Craigieburn. Refurbishments at times can be challenging for hoteliers to manage, and we are doing everything we can to not change the product we offer. We will conclude the refurbishment in a few weeks, would love to see you back to how you the improvement t that have been made. More

We had 2 nights here celebrating a birthday. Loved the Golf Course and Tennis facilities - going mid week meant we pretty much had these facilities to ourselves. Dinners and breakfasts were outstanding - was escpecially grateful for the Hotel bringing in staff to provide a special degustation dinner for my Husband's birthday as it was the evening of the... I am glad you had a great time while here at Peppers Craigieburn. As you said we are a little bit older than most other hotels in Bowral, however that is due to the building being built in 1887 and a lot has certainly changed since then. We are constantly looking for way to improve the product we offer, currently... More

This establishment seems to be in the decline. The extensions added to it are only 'just' sympathetic to the period of the original building on the outside, but the rooms are decorated in modern 'standard hotel' décor. No historic or romantic feeling at all - and they were tiny. The ensuite was the smallest I have ever seen outside of... More

Thank you for the review. We are currently completing a refurbishment of the hotel Restaurant and Bar and as such a few teething problems are occurring with the F&B operation which we are working through. We are working hard to get through this exciting yet challenging time with as little as possible disruption to our guests. More

Stayed previously several years ago and it was at that time, only reasonable. This visit after a refurbishment advertised on their website, it still disappointed. We took bed & breakfast rate in Elm Wing - the room was small as anticipated, but the king size bed means there is hardly any room to move. We arrived a bit early and... More

The Dining rooms although undergoing renovations, still operates as normal through our bar. At times the room that is booked by a guest is occupied the night prior and as such not available until the previous guest vacates, and the room is cleaned. We do appreciate all comments and feedback and do endeavour to rectify any issues that come up,... More

We stayed here for 2 nights with my mum who was visting from the UK. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds just outside Bowral. The building itself has lost it's charm as it's dominated by a block extension to the left. I don't know who designed it but I couldnt have spoilt the look of a beautiful heritage building... More

Thank you for the review. Our grounds are one of the main attractions here at Peppers Craigieburn. The entire property is looked after by our Head Gardner Theo, who does an excellent job, best in Bowral. Our dining room is currently in the middle of a refurbishment which is due for completion in February. Head Chef Warrick is putting the... More

My wife and I were doing the Southern Highlands, shopping Bowral etc and wanted afternoon tea. We after an unpleasant experience in Berrima, contacted Craigieburn by phone and were informed that the resteraunt was open. We went and upon entering the resteraunt we asked if we could have High Tea.There is usually a 24 notice required but after consultation we... More

I am glad you had a great time while in the Southern Highlands, especially that you got to try our famous High Tea. Chef Warrick Brooks has made quite a High Tea reputation in Bowral, using local produce to prepare a great product. And to top it off some of the items come directly from our garden. Look forward to... More

We've stayed at this hotel a few times, and it's ok.........but just ok. Best thing about it is it's proximity to Bowral, and the fabulous Centennial wines just up the road. The rooms are ok, bit small but nice large comfy bed, the bathroom more the size of a closet, but was clean with good sized shower so no real... More

Appreciate the review. There are some benefits of an old Manor house like ours, the old charm being one. However there are also at times the not so great benefits of an old manor like the old plumbing. We are working hard on improving the building bit by bit. Currently undergoing a refurbishment of the Restaurant and bar which will... More

You expect to give up a few modern conveniences to enjoy the ambiance of a historical old house and I think that there is nothing nicer than the shabby chic of a home that once was grand in a by-gone era. Staying in Craigieburn, there is plenty of old world charm, particularly in the gardens and surrounds. You can get... More

Thanks for the review, and I am truly sorry that your anticipated retreat didn't go exactly as planned. We do our best to make sure all of our guests are looked after equally. However there was a miscommunication between Front Desk and Restaurant causing us to miss your booking. I do hope that you do give us another try, as... More

Every year for the past 40 plus years a group of 6 couples go away for a few days. This year Craigieburn provided an enjoyable venue for the golfers as it is sited on a nine hole course. We had stayed some 30 years ago and then it was a guest house. The present owners have retained some of the... More

We have kept the charm of the old building, the owners are quite adamant about keeping the stylin the way it is. Introducing a modern touch but not losing the old look and feel of a building over 120 years old. Which is after all why we have guests returning to our property? They return for the beautiful gardens, original... More
