What a great spot. Beautiful, serene, and peaceful. Staff are lovely. Large room, two levels, ensuite and extra vanity/dressing area plus very comfortable king bed on one level, then down to lounge area with full-length glass windows and door opening out to a picturesque view of the property. Nature at it's best! Lush green grass and trees, a dam with... More

This is about the 7th year my cousins and family have met at Briars. Again it was a great time. We met in the Bong Bong room which contains a huge fire place. As it was a particularly cold windy day the fire was very welcoming. Having a private room makes our yearly event much more enjoyable. The children are... More

After touring the area looking for accommodation for an hour, we settled on The Briars. So glad we did. Friendly reception, well appointed room (room 8), great view of the lake and gardens from the hugely comfy bed and if you like walking, a beautiful route from the back of the property to the Wingecarribee river and weir. Food at... More

We arrived a little early but they had a room ready for us. The girl at the counter, Nicole, is super sweet. We went to our room an it was lovely. We opened up the curtains and there was the lake They had chairs outside so you could sit outside and enjoy the lake and nature - while you enjoyed... More

Briars Lodge is a 7 minute drive south of Bowral town centre. It is set a long way back from the main road so it is very peaceful. We stayed in a King sized room and were very pleasantly surprised at the well thought out floor plan that created a feeling of space whilst maintaining intimacy. It is over two... More

Every year we go to Bowral for rugby matches and we stay here, the place is very quaint and comfortable with a great bar and restaurant on the site. There is a children's playground and in winter has outside fire to roast marshmallows, a very comfortable and pleasing environment. The room are comfortable and clean surrounded by gardens with ducks... More

My hubby and I stayed here last weekend with our 2 and 3 year old. Split level set up good as kids went to sleep in the bed and we sat on the other level and watched tv. Room opens up on to large grass area with large pond with gazebo and tennis courts. Very pleasantly surprised. We stayed in... More

Stayed in the Disabled Room. Room very well appointed apart from the bathroom that could do with a refurbishment. Lovely relaxing and quiet environment. The access to the restaurant could be also improved but will be happy to stay at Briars again.

This old place in the Southern Highlands has a charm that is not easily replicated. The settings is unusual: the restaurant with a huge open verandah for eating outside in summer (attracting guests from all around), and the separate sleeping quarters. We have been lucky enough to have been given the suite which is right at the end (as long... More

We've stayed at Briars many times in their standard rooms but upgraded to the suite last week. The suite is aesthetically pleasant and even more spacious than their other rooms. However, there were three problems that are worth sharing. Firstly, the bathroom fan, which comes on with the light, makes more noise than many motorbikes. Next, the fire alarm which... More
