My wife and myself stayed at the Briars recently and found the room quite large and fully equipped with reasonable standard furnishings. The bathroom that we had was quite modern and had a separate shower with glass frame. The bed was especially comfortable. The restaurant had an adequate menu however, it was self serve and you have to order at the... More

We got married at Briars in the first weekend of March 2015 and it was absolutely perfect! The day was clear and sunny and everything went to plan. The accommodation was really nice as i stayed in both the twin room and the bridal suite and both were quite good.

I've visited Briars Inn on many occasions this was the first time I've experienced their accommodation. We arrived around 4pm. Check in was very quick. What a delight to be able to park right outside the door to our accommodation. The room was clean but could probably do with updating. But that said, it was well equipped with a sofa,... More

We stayed 2 nights to attend a wedding on arrival it all looked beautiful and we were looking forward to our weekend in the highlands. Rooms are set out well but need updating. Bathrooms are dated with the shower over the bath and annoying shower curtain. Every time you turned the bathroom light on the exhaust fan came on as... More

it was a wedding that drew us to Briars and the convenience of not having to travel after drinking wine at the wedding. The setting is lovely and the room had a great view toward an artificial lake. A pity that it was raining so we were not able to explore the property. The room is comfortably appointed with plenty... More

After reading recent reviews I was worried the Briars had gone down hill. It was just as I remembered it. Only difference the WiFi now actually works (and is free) Great rooms, great grounds, great restaurant / inn. All in all a very enjoyable stay and head and shoulders above similarly priced motels.

The accommodation was great with a lovely view and well appointed room, the bathroom could do with an uplift. The service was great, the ladies at the front were very kind and helpful however the restaurant is a disappointment to say the least. Horrible food at a ridiculous price tag.

Revisited after first staying in 2009.,The place looked like nothing had been done. The roof was covered in moss that looked shabby & the paving was very uneven & almost dangerous . The food is expensive for what you get & the breakfast is pre packaged & rather uninviting. The tea & coffee set up is silly & if there... More

A comfortable place to break a journey, or just a change of pace. Quiet rooms, and spacious. Outside views of open spaces and ducks on the lake. Have dinner at the historic Inn, very country feel. Live music in the restaurant on Friday nights. Popular with the locals, so book a table.
