We stayed focused ve days in early October 2014 and had a wonderful stay! The venue, the accommodation and amenities were just excellent! Add to that the just perfect attentiveness of the owners and we will for sure be back again! Also, Berrima is quite an NSW historical location (courthouse, oldest pub in NSW and a nearby pastry shop that... More

Ashrowan is a gorgeous property, beautifully decorated with lovely views. The lounge area has a lovely fireplace, plenty of art and travel books and is decorated with Phil and Susan's wonderful art. There is ots of privacy as each couple was allocated a separate breakfast slot and although hospitable and welcoming, Susan and Phil largely left you to your own... More

Just come home from a delightful weekend at Ashrowan B & B. Gardeners retreat was lovely. Access to own kitchen, warm & comfy sitting room, delightful bedroom with ensuite. Very hearty breakfasts didn't need lunch!!!! Susan & Philip organized casual dinner at Josh's cafe & fine dining at Eschalot. Both good. Totally wonderful weekend. Thoroughly enjoyed. Would recommend.

Stayed here for our first wedding anniversary celebrations in May 2014. We booked The Towner room by email corresponding with Susan, who was very efficient on email and was kind enough to offer us to make a dinner booking at Josh's Café or Eschalot for our anniversary dinner celebrations on Saturday night. We arrived at the accommodation late Friday night.... More

I have stayed at Ashrowan several times in the past 9-10 years, the first time with my mother who had The Tower and I had The Gardener's Retreat downstairs. That visit was so wonderful, the standard so high, that I talk about it still and it is the reason I have returned to Ashrowan. From the moment you pull into... More

We stayed at The Gatehouse for a two-day special getaway in the Southern Highlands and enjoyed it immensely. On hearing that we needed a celebratory dinner on one of the nights, Sue recommended and booked Josh's Cafe for us (a great choice). The bedding is luxurious, the breakfast hamper plentiful and the whole place is just magical.

I booked the Gardener's Retreat (usually B&B) as self-catering because the other B&B room was unoccupied, which meant I had the lounge and kitchenette to myself. Everything was spotless, with great attention to small details, like a jug of water and a glass on the bedside table, fresh flowers in the room, the wood burner restacked each day, and fresh... This bed & breakfast is perfect. Loved the warm ambience with magazines, books, music, art (including still life in progress) and fireplace. We stayed in the gardener's retreat with our own lounge area, perfect for a cosy winter afternoon. Electric blankets, chocolates, and lit candles at breakfast - what else could you want? Highly recommend.

We were looking for a weekend break from Sydney and Ashrowan was perfect. It was exactly the type of B&B we were looking for. Beautiful house, great location and excellent hosts. We stayed in the tower lodge which is upstairs and I believe usually shares the main lounge room with another room although this room was not used during our... More

We have spent another enjoyable weekend as guests of Phillip & Susan. This is about our 4th or 5th stay which says it all, really. Quite location; homey, cosy atmosphere and a really, really good breakfast. Three bedrooms only gives you plenty of privacy but the communal lounge and roaring fire makes winters a treat. Eclectic decoration of original artworks... More
