We stayed for one night in July on a dinner, bed and breakfast deal to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable and the staff could not have been more helpful and kind. The real surprise though was just how good the restaurant food was! The chef must be one of... We stayed just one winters night in June and it was great. The Manor Room was the basic offering but it was well above your basic hotel room. A brass bed, a balcony and period decor on top of great service and very quiet location. It felt more like a home than a hotel. The restaurant was cosy with a... More

I was in Ballina on 2 separate weekends for work commitments and was fortunate to stay at this delightful property on both visits. It has a very relaxed ambience, staff who are an absolute pleasure to deal with, a most welcoming environment, wonderful food and lovely accommodation. I stayed in 2 different rooms and found both to be very pleasant... More

What a joy this hotel is. Located within walking distance to shops, yet nestled in a quiet street. Service is excellent - discreet and friendly. On this occasion, I stayed in the room originally designed for the head mistress. It's located downstairs, with easy access to reception and front balcony. It's a delightful and well furnished room, pristine clean. The... More

Beautifully restored building, extremely helpful and friendly staff. A very relaxed atmosphere and an extremely talented chef. Location is great as off the main road but still close enough to walk to town centre. If need to stay in Ballina again will definitely be back

We stayed on Christmas night on our way back to Sydney. Room was lovely and on the very top floor (only stair access) which wouldn't have been a problem except I am heavily pregnant. But they weren't to know this. If we had been staying more than one night I might have requested to be moved to a room closer... More

the property was built in early 1900's as a Methodist Girls Boarding School. Over the years it has been used as flats and a boarding house but the present owners have faithfully restored it to its former character. Much of the furniture was sourced in Tasmainia and is of the appropriate period. We stayed in the former head mistresses room... More

How good is it to experience 5 star, yet feel right at home. The friendly staff and comfortable surrounds of this heritage building make a perfect combination to enjoy beautiful Ballina. Be surprised by a pillow menu that allows you to sleep well, and enjoy simply stunning food served in unhurried surrounds. Probably not suitable for young children.

I routinely stay here on business trips to the area. Once again, the stay was ideal. The attic room was quirky but comfortable (but don't use it if you don't like stairs), with the room clean and well furnished. The staff were friendly and very helpful and check in/out was effortless The room service meal (fish/chips), was a misnomer, as... More
