Unfortunately we didnt do enough homework before booking this! To confirm what other reviewers are saying....This is not a resort, it is a motel. The 4star assessment is not reflective of the quality of the facilities. Eg, when they said there is a gym, there is a rusty bike and eliptical machine. We had a King-Spa room. We ran the... More

Stayed here for a wedding where a special rate had been organised. Even this rate was expensive for what was offered. The grounds are beautiful and it is in a good location away from the main centre of Ballina and close to the beach. The breakfasts are good and there is a restaurant, but we did not dine there. The... More

I stayed here with a group of friends over New Year 2014/15. The location is great for Lighthouse Beach and the rooms are basic and great value. We stayed in 2 family rooms, which each had a queen bed and 2 single beds. The air conditioning was brilliant, especially in the January heat! The beach is just a couple of... More

The actual hotel is fine but not worth the money you pay. Some of the staff are nice but the old man at the reception desk was pretty rude and clearly doesn't know how to smile when greeting customers. I don't know if it's because he just doesn't like brown people or if he is just a miserable old man... More

The experience always starts with the welcome from reception. Needless to say that the Ballina Beach Resort does not shine for its understanding of the word hospitality, the man holding fort at reception being quite abrupt, giving as little information as possible. Then there is the room; in our case, a Queen deluxe. Yes, it is clean and tidy (except... More

We held our wedding reception in the Palms function room last month. The room looked spectacular! I could not have asked for more. We received so many compliments on 1) how beautiful the room looked, 2) how amazing all of the food was and 3) the impeccable service from the staff throughout the night. We are still receiving compliments from... More

This resort is clean & tidy. The room had all we needed for the two nights, was basic but comfortable. The continental breakfast each morning had a big variety to chose from & was tasty. It's quite pretty & so very close to the beach. There is a pool, spa, sauna, gym, tennis court, BBQ area & the landscape is... More

Don't get me wrong. It's a good place. I've been put up here twice for work for the last 3 years. But I can't bring myself to let my office put me up there again for the price we pay. The rooms were good. The staff were nice and helpful. The conference/business facilities were okay. But if the price could... More

We spent 3 night's here in room 214 overlooking the pool on the 1st floor. It's across the road from a great surf and swimming beach. The restaurant food is fabulous and the inclusive continental breakfast was .fr3sh fruit, yogurt, cereals and toast. The staff are v helpful and friendly. Our room was huge with a good size balcony. Great... More
