Spent time here with Cherie, were fortunate to be given a room with own bathroom, but most other rooms are share basis. It is a beautiful old building, though due for a bit of TLC. A little advice, when offered anything it will cost. Offered a coffee on arrival which we often get offered at other B & B's, only... More

I’m afraid I can’t understand the rave reviews. I agree that the owner is very nice and helpful, and works constantly and tirelessly to try to maintain this very old, very run down property, but it is just WAY too expensive for what it offers. I stayed here on the basis of the many positive Trip Advisor reviews, so I... More

My girl friend and I had spent our Valentines weekend here and we were just wrapped with the traditional feel and genuine hospitality we received by Cherie at Segenhoe Inn. I recommend anyone wishing to take a step back in time for something truly special. We felt like we were part of Downton Abbey! Take a drive to the hunter... More

This was a very quaint place, with lots of character including the host!!. Had a choice of 3 rooms, works on firs in best dressed, not good if you can't turn up till late in the day as I guess no choice left. For the luxury you are meant to get needs some changes - shared bathrooms, no personal shapooes etc... The best way for me to respond to this is to take each statement individually and please note that this and the following review are from the same people. Firstly these people came on an internet deal where they paid less than half price!!! and as we in this business find those who are bargain hunters are always the hardest... More

Obscenely overpriced and extremely overrated. Very disappointing, never to return. No locks on doors, small rooms, shared bathrooms and an uncomfortable bed. First time in purchasing accommodation on the internet that I have felt duped.

After spending a few hours travelling it was an absolute delight to step into the Segenhoe Inn. On the counter I noticed a sign that read "Enter as strangers, leave as friends". After our 2 night stay I can honestly say that is how we felt. Cherie welcomed us warmly into her home and was a wonderful hostess for our... More

Greeted by owner/licensee Cherie Donovan. Gave us a short but informative history of the hotel. It was like stepping back into a time warp with all the antiquities and historical memborilla on display. Cherie was extremely professional and friendly and made us feel very welcome. The premises are very clean and comfortable. The only draw back would be the shared... More

The In is a quaint little place although and had only one other room occupied on both nights that we were there. The owner was interesting and charming company, she guided us well about the touristy places to visit. Anyone staying there needs to be prepared for the following to avoid being disappointed: - you have to share the bathrooms... More

What a charming place to stay a night or two. Cherie was an excellent host and her hospitality was great along with her whit and humour. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the surroundings took you back in time.I enjoyed the evening meal provided which was optional and the delicious breakfast. I would stay again when visiting Australia.... More

Quite obvious that the owner (or her friends) are leaving overly positive reviews on this place - see below - this place is essentially a 3 star B&B, not the period-styled historic property that its sold as. Many of the antiques are 'faux' and there is little about the furnishings that is 'period' or even coherent in style. The owner... More
