My husband and I have been visiting Sorensons for several years. We have stayed in many of their cabins, each being different. It is in the beautiful Hope Valley near Markleeville. What we love most about it also is we are fly fisherman and there are lots of opportunities to fish in the nearby West Carson, East Carson and many... More

Sorenson's Resort came highly recommended by friends, so when I was planning an early Spring getaway in the Sierra's, I booked the Sheephearder cabin for three nights. I'm so happy I did! It's a beautiful property, darling cabins (all sizes and prices ranges), every staff member we spoke to was helpful, kind and accomodating and the restaurant is delicious! My... More

This is our third year staying at the Sorensen's Resort. If you require cell phone, computer and TV and even limited radio coverage this is not for you, but if you want the time to read, fish, hike and enjoy the flora and fauna of the beautiful Hope Valley and its surrounding area then Sorensen's is your Resort to come... This was our sixth stay at Sorenson's Resort. Had a lovely restful sleep, helped along by a yummy meal of lamb chops with a great Pinot Grigio. Thanks for the late check out. We were able to zip over to South Lake Tahoe for a ripping Mtn bike ride early then back to pack up for the trip home.

Really enjoyed my recent stay at Sorensen's - their employees are stellar, everyone was so friendly. After check in we were treated to our option of beverage - coffee, cocoa, tea or wine - nice perk after a long drive. Stayed in the Foxtail cabin which was nicely maintained and had a gas stove that kept the cabin plenty warm.... More

For my husband's birthday and Easter weekend we stayed at Sorensen's Resort with our almost 5 month son and dog. We stayed in the Redwood Cabin which is perfect. We were able to check in early; the staff especially Becky was friendly and accommodating. When I mentioned my husband's birthday while making the reservation she promised they would have a... More

We have been going to Sorensen's for over 20 years now. We get there every 3-5 years and talk about our previous stays all the years inbetween. One of our favorite magical hideaways! We like to try a different cabin each time and this past weekend stayed in the Pinon cabin with the bed and breakfast. What a darling cabin!... More

Gorgeous setting, friendly, helpful staff, awesome food! Low key, no pretentious posturing; folks come here mainly to chill, not to be seen; not the "in" crowd place. Lots of cross country and snow shoe trails. Quiet. Very dog friendly. Sweet.

Our family has stayed at Sorensen's each winter for 17 yrs now. We started coming here when the kids were toddlers, it is the perfect location for spending the day going out to play in the snow and coming inside to get warm and cozy. We cross-country ski here each winter, skiing at various locations in the National Forest land... More

This was our first time at Sorensen's and we LOVED it! Along with our 7 and 9 year old children, we went sledding on the property (Sorenson's provides free sleds so leave yours at home) and snowshoeing (Sorenson's provided snowshoes rentals free of charge for our entire stay) along the Carson River. Our cabin was perfect for the 4 of... More
