Every year we try and get our annual fix by staying at Sorensen's Resort and again this year proved another rewarding experience! This was our first visit in September and the trees were just starting to change their colors. John & Patty and their staff again were superb. The only sad issue was the water level in the West Fork... More

A few weeks ago we enjoyed the great outdoors, fishing nearby Willow Creek and attending a nearby wedding in the woods, but indulged ourselves by staying at Sorensen's. Charming cabins and delish food.

We loved our stay at Sorensen's Resort. My husband and I traveled to the Lake Tahoe area to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary. What a perfect place to celebrate - Sorensen's Resort in the Chapel cabin. Upon check in we were greeted by the owner, John. He was friendly, funny, and we felt like old friends coming to visit his... More

The Sorensen's Resort offers a variety of lodging. From the website we chose the Pinon Cabin which is a mini cabin the size of a hotel room. Log cabin with beautiful rustic woods was just as advertised and included breakfast off the extensive menu. If you are looking for rustic, look no further. By the way, don't expect TV and... More

We stayed at the River Cabin across the street from the main Sorenson's compound. It's a very small, outdated and shabbily appointed cabin. The location was very nice, with the river right in the back yard and beautiful views of the mountains from the back deck. There was a nice hot tub and newer propane BBQ grill on the deck,... More

As owner of the River House and Sorensen’s Resort, it is surprising to receive this negative review. On a couple of occasions, I had the opportunity to chat with the guests and I was told they were having a great time and that they “loved the place”. As guests they also had the opportunity to comment in writing through a... More

We used to drive two hours to get to Sorensen's but now travel eight hours and will do it again. What a great place to unwind, read, sleep. We cannot recommend it enough. Try listening to the Aspens ruffling in the breeze, breathing clean mountain air, eating good food(breakfast, lunch and/or dinner). And there is limited (almost non existent) internet... More

Sorensen's is a great place any time of the year. The area offers every kind of recreation, The cabins are perfect, the staff are so helpful, the food is amazing and the grounds are just beautiful. We have stayed there in almost every season, summer/spring and fall its hiking and winter its skiing, snow shoeing sledding.

We try to make 2 or 3 trips up hwy 88 every year. We have stayed at Sorensen's and have also stopped in a couple times to eat lunch. Well, this time we camped across the highway at Kit Carson campground. We needed to make a phone call so crossed the road to Sorensen's to use the pay phone. The... More

Another great stay at this terrific resort. Keep in mind that it is somewhat rustic and not a glitzy resort. We stayed in the Sierra House again which gave us plenty of room for us and our granddaughter. The meals again were wonderful. Their beef stew is the BEST I've ever had. The lamb chops for dinner were delicious and... More

Just came back to the Bay Area after four nights at Sorensen's. I enjoyed every moment there. My family including my dog stayed at the, "Homestead". The cabin is very comfortable and the people I met were warm and friendly. My days were spent enjoying the cool early morning weather and the warm afternoons. My husband and daughter hiked and...
