We stayed here for 5 nights and the hotel, staff and location are excellent. We had a best sea view room which was lovely and had a stunning view of the nearby beach. The staff couldn't have been more polite, friendly and efficient. The meals were, on the whole, very good. We shall be booking again, which for me is... More

When you look at the prices for The Nare you may well wonder what you get for the money in the middle of nowhere in Cornwall. What you are actually paying the premium for, in theory, is the location on an idyllic and quiet beach with panoramic seascapes. Even so, at these prices it needs to be exceptional and I... More

My wife an I visiited The Nare in June as we have done on a number of occasions. This hotel offers a peace and tranquility we have not experienced anywhere else, providing an opportunity for scenic coast walks or just lounging around enjoying being pampered by attentive staff. Everything is arranged around providing a personal service, nothing is too much... More

I feel rather guilty for writing this review almost 9 months after I stayed at the Nare but better late than never. My family were together for my Grandmother's memorial and we stayed here, some of us for two nights, others for three. My Grandparents frequented the Nare annually so we thought it would be a good idea to do... More

Our lunch on the Quarterdeck at the Nare was spoilt by poor service. We ate on the terrace but the staff remained huddled inside with the glass doors closed and were unattentive. The first course was served before we had finished our aperitifs, the wine was not poured out for us and throughout the meal we had a sense that... More

Because of circumstances, we had left our booking a little late, but the Nare was able to offer us a "Best sea-view room" for two nights and a country view suite for the rest of the week. Ordinarily, the suite would have been great, but the sea view room just blew our minds. We discovered the Nare in October 2014,... More

This hotel never disappoints. From pulling up at the front door where a uniformed young man appears, offering a polite and cheery ‘Good Afternoon, Welcome to The Nare’ as he opens the car passenger door for my wife, to the unobtrusive service on the lounge terrace after lunch where one enjoys coffee and homemade chocolates, the experience is exemplary. The... More

Rationally, no (BUT KEEP READING!). Not quite sure how you justify this level of pricing (though there IS something about location, location, location, which comes at a price), particularly (and this is my main query) since the food was less than excellent at times. A lunchtime soup on the first day came with stale, sliced bread. Sliced bread! A real... More

We were a party of six that had booked for a Saturday lunch, we had all been several times before and had been slightly disappointed but thought we should give it another try. The arrival and greetings were fine, the table position was also fine, however when the food arrived the waitress dropped one large prawn from a sea food... More

Our visit here this week for my wife's fiftieth birthday was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. Terribly over priced; horrible, snobby staff with a "be grateful for being here" attitude; Awful food which will make me write to the AA to ask them how they ever gave it a rosette; 1970s hotel value, and clearly designed for...
