We checked in to the Nare having been thwarted in our attempt to get to the Hell Bay Hotel in the Scillies due to poor weather. We were a party of 15 - 3 families with Granny. The weather was atrocious all weekend and the hotel could not have been more amazing. Wonderful, friendly staff, delicious food & lots of... More

We have been visiting the Roseland for generations and started having cream teas and lunches at The Nare a few years ago. The last two years have been disappointing and now The Idle Rocks and Tresanton are so good we will not be visiting again. The head waiter is always grumpy and no one ever serves you quickly, in fact... More

We went for a 3 course lunch. The hotel is very attractive and the location is superb. The staff are very polite and attentive. The food was very nice but I found some wire in my chips. The chef had apparently cleaned the deep fat fryer!! They took the drinks off the bill - 2 gins and a coke for... More

4 of us visited this lovely looking hotel today, the grounds were well kept, however, the service and food was so overrated. We decided have just main courses followed by sweets and coffee. I had Moules which was a little on the cold side, the mussels were so small and had a lot of closed shells, hmmmmmm says it all really.... More

I hesitate recommending this wonderful experience for fear it will be flooded, with wrong guests, but we do so anyway because it was just so superb in so many ways. First the view. Magnificent. The cliffs Poldark is busy riding. The food is first rate, and so ample. Great chef using the freshest local fish, lamb, beef and vegetables. Great... More

We stayed here for 5 nights and the hotel, staff and location are excellent. We had a best sea view room which was lovely and had a stunning view of the nearby beach. The staff couldn't have been more polite, friendly and efficient. The meals were, on the whole, very good. We shall be booking again, which for me is... More

When you look at the prices for The Nare you may well wonder what you get for the money in the middle of nowhere in Cornwall. What you are actually paying the premium for, in theory, is the location on an idyllic and quiet beach with panoramic seascapes. Even so, at these prices it needs to be exceptional and I... More

My wife an I visiited The Nare in June as we have done on a number of occasions. This hotel offers a peace and tranquility we have not experienced anywhere else, providing an opportunity for scenic coast walks or just lounging around enjoying being pampered by attentive staff. Everything is arranged around providing a personal service, nothing is too much... More

I feel rather guilty for writing this review almost 9 months after I stayed at the Nare but better late than never. My family were together for my Grandmother's memorial and we stayed here, some of us for two nights, others for three. My Grandparents frequented the Nare annually so we thought it would be a good idea to do... More

Our lunch on the Quarterdeck at the Nare was spoilt by poor service. We ate on the terrace but the staff remained huddled inside with the glass doors closed and were unattentive. The first course was served before we had finished our aperitifs, the wine was not poured out for us and throughout the meal we had a sense that... More
