Friendly staff. Myself and family well looked after. Rooms clean and tidy. No complaints at all. Food in restaurant was good. Nice friendly feel to the place. Would definitely stay again. Very handy for Plymouth and surrounding areas.

We’re a bit surprised by this review as we have over 43 items on our menu plus specials boards and desserts menus, so it cannot be described as limited! The wooden boards used for our T-bone steaks and Mixed Grills were new in May and are cleaned with antibacterial cleansers. We are sorry if the customer did not enjoy his... More

We recently had an early evening meal at the Carbeile and were impressed with both the service we received (all the staff were very friendly and attentive) and the food. The menu was extensive (including a specials board) - definitely something there to suit all tastes. We particularly liked the fact that you could choose the size of the meals... More

The new owners first words on showing us our room was to apologise for the funny smell but that they have just taken over and that all rooms are going to be renovated. The shower doors were not fixed correctly and were difficult to close due to no runners on the bottom. The decor was poor with holes in the... More

We are sorry that the customers have voiced their problems on this forum in this way, I spoke to them when they arrived and before they paid their bill for the stay. The lady did comment on the shower enclosure and I agreed with her that they are unusual units but that all 5 rooms have exactly the same style... More

Arrived Saturday 19 July. When we entered the room the carpets were dirty and mould in corner of walls - AND THE KETTLE! Big crack in the sink. Bathroom floor had not been clean (see pictures!) dusting-not clearly done for several months. Food wise very greasy. Worse then McDonald's we ordered omelet. Outside was cooked inside was raw. Staff we... More

We apologise for any problems in the room and the matter has been taken up with the cleaning staff. New flooring and bathroom units are being installed when we refurbish later in the year. The Carbeile, having had 5 owners in 3 years is in need of considerable investment and a full refurbishment is planned for later in the year.... More

We stayed here for three nights in June and found it to be nice, clean and peaceful. When we checked in the owners noticed we had teenage kids and offered us another room very cheaply, which was great. The rooms are a good size, breakfast is cooked to order and we had a nice view of the water from our... More

We popped in here for lunch on Wednesday, my husband met up with an Australian friend and his family,he hadn't seen for years. The pub was quiet, which was nice and it was just after two, it was nice for a pub to serve food until 3, as many don't. We had the fish chowder, which we thoroughly enjoyed, our... More

Under new ownership and in need of refurbish, which I believe is on the cards, but other than that I have no complaints whatsoever. The Carbeile is a 3 minute drive from Raleigh, so very handy for my son's passing out parade. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly and made us feel welcome, and the food was superb,... More

Thank-you for the lovely review. As you say, we do want to refurbish but will wait until we have security of tenure before making the investment - hopefully this will come about later this year. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and the passing out parade. More

only 3 minute drive away from Raleigh so ideal for us visiting for a passing out parade. The food was ok and a good selection to choose from on the menu. The... More

Thank-you for the kind review. We are please you enjoyed your stay and the fact that we have set our prices according to what we are currently able to offer guests.
