My wife and I stayed at the Housel Bay recently for weekend break on The Lizard and we're thoroughly satisfied with the experience. The staff were all polite, helpful and good natured and the owners were friendly and good company. The location is stunning and the views from the forward facing rooms magnificent. The staff at breakfast and in the... More

This place was a vaguely weird experience. I have never stayed anywhere where there seemed to be an 'in-crowd' and in which those who did not know the manager personally were somehow superfluous. Now - my wife and I are not exactly the kind of people who expect to barrel into hilarious badinage with the staff - but we do... More

Where to begin, The hotel is located on one of the most beautiful locations, but location alone is not enough. We had the most unusual welcome ever, nobody ever said welcome. The owner took our name and disappeared in his office for about 10 minutes without saying one word and just left us there. We got a room the size... More

Firstly let me thank you for taking the time to review the Housel Bay Hotel. It was with much regret to read that your visit to the Housel Bay was not satisfactory. Really enjoyed staying in this hotel,, the location was brilliant directly on the South West Coastpath and the views were amazing in both directions. The hotel is now a bit tired and probably needs a facelift but we didn't need a state of the art white box and it has loads of character, bit like staying in a museum, loads... More

We stayed recently over Easter weekend at the Hotel. Ecellent location and service. Rooms were reasonalbly priced and well maintained even though the house iteself is over 150 years old. Location perfect for walks to stunning Kynance Cove and Lizard Point. Recommend if you are looking for peace and want to avoid crowds. The only tradeoff is in terms of... More

The Housel Bay Hotel is really just an average place, with decent food, in an excellent location. Would recommend to a friend, but only with the above disclaimer. We liked the Cornish staff, as it felt more authentic.

Set just about as far south as you can go on the UK mainland this hotel is far removed from your usual bland offerings. The rooms are spacious and clean with all the facilities you could want and with the coastal footpath right on the doorstep the location is ideal for walkers. The food was good and the setting of... Another lovely stay also with a new chef who's food was absolutely delicious, London standard cuisine at Cornwall prices! We stay very regularly and have never been let down, so we always look forward to our next stay! Thanks Alfie and Iona!

Very friendly welcome ,fabulous views ,this hotel is so very lovely ,if you don't want all mod cons and are prepared to be somewhere that has not galloped away with the times this is the place. The lounge is quiet and restful just the ticking of a Grandfather clock in the corner while you drink tea and totally chill. The staff are... We have just held a 90th birthday party for my father at the Housel Bay Hotel. The weather was perfect, the staff were fantastic and helped us in every way possible. Food was delicious and we really enjoyed our couple of days staying at the hotel. Thank you Housel Bay!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are situated in a spectacular location at the Lizard in Cornwall. A lovely sandy cove nestles beneath the Hotel, and the Cornish Coast Path runs through the gardens and cliff lands. A place in which to walk, to eat and drink well and to set aside the cares of the world. Unspoilt scenery, outstanding cuisine (AA Rosette and RAC Dining Award) and a healthy lifestyle, we are also home to Britain's most southerly webcam. ... more   less
