We were very disappointed by the unfriendly welcome, from the owner, on our arrival. Our room had a stunning view but was small and having a king size bed in it gave us little room to move around. The decor and furniture were quite old and shabby and definitely needed refreshing and replacing. The food was excellent and the young... More

We have visited the Hotel on many occasions now and are blown away by how relaxing and beautiful this place is every time we visit. The history, views, bedrooms and food are so above what you'd expect from a three star Hotel so you feel as if you're getting amazing value for money. The owners and staff are so friendly... More

I stayed here with a party of 9 walkers last week for three nights. The hotel is perfectly position for coastal walking. The reception, normally run by the owner, is friendly and efficient, the staff friendly but professional. The rooms are clean, and have tea/coffee making facilities. Both the bar and sitting room are attractive, as are both the dining... More

We went for a light lunch and were impressed with the place. It's set in a superb location and as a result has spectacular views of the Lizard and the coastal walk ways. The beer was good, the food freshly prepared and tasty. Certainly worth a visit, if only for the view.

With a few days of guaranteed good weather ahead of us, we took advantage of an off season offer to stay three nights for the price of two. We had often thought about staying at this hotel having first spotted it years ago during a walk along the coast path. It has to be said that the size of our... More

This is a lovely period hotel with the best view in Cornwall, if not the UK. We have stayed many times, and the owners and staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The only slight criticism I would make at the moment is that the A La Carte dinner menu is somewhat 'over-engineered', with the more 'normal' dishes listed... More

Just popped in off the coast path for lunch and had the best crab sandwich ever. Husband had club sandwich which he said was delicious. Sandwiches were served with nicely dressed salad garnish and good quality crisps. We couldn't resist a portion of chips too as they are always fantastic and we weren't disappointed. Accompanied by a crisp sauvignon blanc... More

This was our second trip to Housel Bay the first being on our honeymoon in 1986. We loved it as it was just what we expected. The hotel stands proudly atop the glorious cliffs overlooking the lighthouse and has a character that you are just not going to get in a modern hotel. This has history and a wonderful feel... More

We trekked up the lizard and stopped for a refreshing cider at Housel Bay. Beautiful view on a sunny day and was well enjoyed by the lot of us. The cliffside hotel is a classic beauty and we're making a point of staying a night or two next time we're in Cornwall.

We arrived and were met with a lovely welcome from the managers friend who checked us in with no problems and advised us we had been upgraded free of charge. Our room was very small and very dated the bed was too high an too small, te shelf fell off the wall when I tried to put my book on... More

Firstly I would like to thank you for taking the time to review your stay, we appreciate all feedback, be it positive or negative. It was with regret to hear that you found the room to be very small, however the Hotel is 120 years old and the rooms still remain how they always have done and we have no... More
