........then stay at Porteath Barn and you will find it. The atmosphere of the place is comfortable and welcoming, the breakfasts most enjoyable while talking to the hosts, Michael and Jo. And if you want a walk before breakfast, you only have to step out through the french doors of your room and walk down through their eight acres of... More

I needed to find accommodation in the Polzeath/Rock area during August ! Those who know the area will not be surprised to learn that August is manic with hordes of visitors. I would have avoided the area by choice but I had no alternative. It was therefore unbelievable to find the tranquil location of Portreath Barn. The Barn is located... More

5 of us (including 2 children) stayed here taking over the accommodation. Michael & Jo were great hosts - the food was superb (I would move in!) with creative and delicious cooking and plenty of choice - the hosts were there when needed but made us feel that it was our home for the two nights... The setting is gorgeous... More

My wife and I flew to England from Switzerland to walk the South West Coast Path and selected this place from Alistair Sawday's recommendations. This converted barn has been luxuriously restored by 2 of the loveliest people you will ever meet. The Barn is set in beautifully landscape grounds and there is a private sandy beach at the bottom garden... More

Jo & Michael have transformed an old barn into an architect's dream. Lovely modern rooms with easy access from the outside. The grounds are a treasure, second only to the warmth & hospitality of our hosts. We were welcomed with a lovely cup of tea and made to feel at home. Jo & Michael were very helpful with information about... More

We stayed for four nights, and can honestly say that it was brilliant from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Jo and Michael make you feel like honoured guests and they look after every need. The house has a lovely tranquil feel to it, the gardens are stunning and huge, with plenty of places to unwind in... We chose to stay here as part of the Tropicana & Sawdays offer and were very pleased we did. Porteath Barn is a beautiful house with beautiful gardens in a stunning rural location, close enough by car to Padstow to sample Rick Stein's seafood, as well as go for some good walks. We also used it as a base for... More

We chose this B&B after a national promotion by Tropicana and Sawday's ("special places to stay"). When we arrived at Porteath Barn we quickly realised that what we were really paying for was a lovely setting away from the normal Cornwall crowds with gardens that drew you in to investigate and explore. Our hosts, Jo and Michael, were excellent and... More
