Wonderful location. Staff were very friendly and welcoming on reception. I stayed in room 5 which was at the back and positioned directly over the vent from the kitchen, there was a sign saying don't open the two very small windows because of the smell from the kitchen. I didn't open the window but the noise kept me awake late... More

After an initial mix up with Bookings.com we were allocated a recently refurbished sea facing room at the front of the hotel. Well, what an absolute treat this was! The views across the harbour and the sea beyond were amazing. This is a lovely hotel, staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. We ate in the Bistro during our stay and... More

Location fine, hotel itself not that bad for a 3 star, however we were put in room 5 on the first floor. Taped to the window was a sign telling us not to open the window because of kitchen smells. Not what you want on a hot sunny day, despite the room air-con. Right outside these windows was a flat... More

I have stayed here many times and made lots of friends, staff as well as locals, nothing is to much trouble any issue I have had has been dealt with, it is always spotless always a good pint!, the food is plentiful, and the icing on the cake is the vista!, so if you are looking for a short vacation... We stayed here following a short visit to Cornwall. This is a small hotel in a lovely location with nice views over a small harbour. The room we stayed in was quite small and had been recently refurbished to a high standard. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. This was our second visit and we will definitely stay here... My wife and I stayed at the Pier house Hotel for 2 nights. We didn't have a sea view but were aware that they had all been taken when we booked. The rooms are on the small side but well decorated and furnished. The shower room (no bath in our room but that wasn't a problem) was also well fitted... More

We recently stayed for a birthday treat over the August bank holiday. The location is fantastic but the hotel is decidedly average with a over priced restaurant. The staff were pleasant .....and that is as much as I can say, there was nothing offered over and above meeting your basic needs. The hotel is beige and bland. While it may... More

This hotel is close to the sea but the small, basic room we stayed in had a musty smell. The creaky floors and the corridors meant that we could hear all the movements - as well as snoring next door. The free parking is shared with another hotel. It was full when the dinner guests were around. The receptionist was... More

I personally inspected this room twice, I was unable to find any smells. Our rooms are cleaned to a high standard and let on a daily basis. I can only say sorry to the customer for her poor experience. More

This hotel has most aspects right. The rooms have recently been refurbished to an excellent standard. The food is of excellent quality and portion sizes large. The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The surroundings are beautiful and interesting. Life on the quay always had something happening whilst we were there including a tall ship coming into... More

We were in Room 28, overlooking the harbour and sea, was smart, clean and very comfortable, although you look out onto the patio where people are sitting having lunch or a drink, being elevated no-one overlooks you and the double glazing means the room is very quiet. The staff were wonderful and the quality of the food was exceptional. A... More
