We have been visiting Cornwall for nearly 40 years and have stayed in numerous cottages but I can say that Gwyndra Retreat is is by far the best. It is so spacious and comfy with absolutely everything you could possibly need for your stay. Jackie and Jim made us feel so welcome, nothing is a trouble to them. We were... More

My husband and I stayed in this lovely well appointed B&B back in 2010 and it was so good that it was the only place I would consider sending my parents to stay when touring around Cornwall in August 2014. I am so glad I did. It was very easy for my parents to visit all the local attractions with... More

Just spent 4 nights there. Excellent breakfasts. Couldn't have been made more welcome. Comfortable room with all we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. We made a very good choice and hope to return. Thank you Jackie.

I only stayed a couple of nights but will definitely be back! Jackie is a truly lovely host, very helpful and friendly. Email confirmation of booking and helpful directions provided - as I was arriving by train this was very helpful! The station is literally over the road making it ideal for public transport users. The room itself was spotless,... More

We spent 30 days in England and stayed at many B&Bs but the Gwyndra was a class above all the rest. Lovely, lovely property lovingly cared for by Jackie and her husband. A excellent full English breakfast was available accompanied by excellent advice from Jackie about places to see and the best way to get there. She even directed us... More

Stayed at this B&B 4 times over the years whilst visiting the Eden Project. We love the laid back feel and the welcome from Jackie is second to none. We have stayed in both the Red Room and the Green Room, and both are really comfortable rooms. Good beds and showers. Breakfast is excellent and well cooked with plenty to... More

We stayed at Gwyndra retreat which is a self contained cottage in the grounds of the b+b .This is a well appointed cottage which lives up to its description has a holiday cottage. What is not described is that it is only yards away from the main railway line(Penzance/London) and large loud trains are running from 5-00am till 11-00pm+ freight... More

We couldn't believe how close to the train station this guest house is. Ideal for the Eden project, heligan gardens, Looe or heading further into Cornwall by rail or car. We had a very warm welcome, good advice where to go, lovely breakfast and very comfortable bed and room. Highly recommended.

I chose Gwyndra when my family were visiting as it's conveniently located practically across the road from the train/bus station. It's also a short walk to the town centre. Jackie was very friendly and hospitable, with recommendations for restaurants, and she made our stay very comfortable. Plentiful breakfasts and lovely rooms -- they were comfortable, clean and above all warm... More

We stayed at Gwyndra in September 2013 as part of a three night stay in St Austell to explore the surrounding area. Our warm welcome from Jackie really set the tone as we were plied with a well needed cup of tea and given a huge amount of helpful information on the local area including a great walk (which we...
