This was a family holiday - Husband, myself and 13 year old son.We were booked into a standard sea view room which had a spectacular view of the Bay and was furnished with an extra zed bed for our son. The room itself was ok in size but rather cramped with the extra bed in situ. The windows had safety... More

We were a party of 12 visiting the hotel for a birthday meal. 4 of us had travelled from Stoke on Trent to be there for this special day. The weekend culminated in a meal at this hotel and all I can say is that it was Fantastic! The food, service, setting and staff were all top class. We had... More

We came here for a family ceebration, we booked a table of 14 in the bay view restaurant which is stunning. There was a huge mix up as on the day we had a phone call to say they had stopped serving in there during the summer!! As we had family travelling down we were quite upset, fortunately we had... Well dear reader this was truly exciting in a kinda really unexciting way. Let me explain. This place is layed out. I'm talking location, location, Location. Can't get any better, perched on the seaside cliffs, a jewel amongst hundreds of acres of fabulous parkland, ok, golf course but no worry. You don't have to golf. You can still roam the... More

We were staying across the road in another hotel, but they had stopped doing dinner at 9pm so we went over the road and we were delighted we did! They have 3 different restaurants and only one was left open which was closing in 5 minutes. I work in the industry and know how annoying this can be, but that... More

I spent a week with my wife followed by another week with members from our Swiss golf club and it was superb from all points of view: quality and kindness of the service, good food with large choice of starters, mains and desserts plus à la carte, interesting championship golf course, beautiful views of the cliffs and St Austell Bay,... After my husband's retirement from the navy after 25 years service, our 20th Anniversary coming up and a major knee op for my husband this week, I booked a last minute nights stay at Carlyon Bay as a treat. First time away on our own since having our four boys, eldest 19yrs, youngest 5yrs!! so wanted something special. We were... More

This hotel is beautifully appointed with wonderful views across the bay. The food at both of the restaurants was delicious and we also really enjoyed using the spa facilities. What really made our stay enjoyable was the attentiveness of all the staff, nothing was too much trouble and they really made us feel welcome. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again!

I've been fortunate to visit this hotel several times in recent years and it seems to get better and better. Everything about it is spot on and that certainly includes the location - the hotel is perched high on the cliffs just outside St Austell - followed by the comfortable accommodation (we had a sea view room with breathtaking views),...
