We use budget hotels quite a lot, but as this was a short break to celebrate a special birthday we decided to choose somewhere a bit more up-market. Although the Cornwall was clean, spacious and reasonably comfortable, the room was very hot, bed and pillows a bit hard and service quite poor especially at breakfast. That said, the setting was... Good points • Setting / Location – just stunning • Room size good • Cleanliness excellent • Beautiful swimming pool (although we didn’t use it) • Fresh mini croissants & pain au chocolat at the breakfast Bad points – most disappointing / upsetting /irritating first • Very average breakfast for what the hotel appears to be (apart from the croissants... We booked the room last minuet on a Friday afternoon. The reception was busy however they still managed to show us two different rooms. We decided to go for a room with a balcony which was cheaper and bigger than one in the main hotel! Great The room was very clean and had everything we needed. The swimming pool was... More

The Cornwall Hotel is very well located and it is set a lovely grounds. The rooms are roomy and nicely furnished. The staff are polite, it is a good breakfast buffet and everything is very clean. A very relaxing stay

We stayed in a suite for 4 nights and the room and hotel were great. The Spa facilities, gym and pool especially good. Hotel location and surroundings are good too. Service on the other hand was consistently poor throughout our stay. Breakfast is pretty much a shambles with a restaurant not big enough to cater for everyone (and we were... More

We booked one of the suites in the main house and after a disastrous stay elsewhere this hotel was very welcome. The room was big, very light and very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and provided feather pillows and fresh milk on request. Breakfast (downstairs) and dinner were both delicious. We had some lovely walks on the nearby coastal... More

This hotel is a bit of a haven away from the hordes of tourists in the small seaside towns. The rooms are very spacious and have their own balcony. The staff are helpful and the food very good. The patio on the front is a great place to enjoy one of their amazing cream teas. One of the best I... More

My family and I stayed at the hotel on Bank Holiday Monday. We booked 2 rooms and we arrived at the hotel at 15:05. Our rooms or at least one of them wasn't ready which we felt was extremely poor. The Receptionist looked bored and had no get up and go. We said we would sit in the bar area... More

My twin sister and I stayed here for our birthday and there are some lovely things about the hotel but also some things in need of improvement and some oddities. We asked for a twin room they unfortunately couldn’t accommodate. We were also given one of the odd open plan rooms which means the bathroom (excluding toilet) is in the... More
