We booked Penkerris for a one night stay as we were looking for somewhere which could accommodate us and our dogs as we were walking a section of the South West Coast Path. We had a great stay. Yes, it's a dated, but that's the charm of the place. It's a bit like going back in time. The rooms are... More

This is not a guest house visit, rather an experience ! First impressions are that one has entered a time warp but in others very modern including free wi fi and Sky Sports on a large screen. The owner, Dorothy, is a wonderful character who is ultra considerate for her guests' welfare; just do not ask her about the revival of... More

Superb value for money. You certainly get more than you pay for. Warm rooms, decent breakfast and a marvellous hostess. Reminds me of a BBC series from the 70's. The beach is walkable, if you like walking.

Nothing particular to say: the Penkerris cannot be defined as a pearl neither a bad place... you can find there an average experience: the room was clean, comfortable for two and with a washbasin near the bed (unless ensuite). The building is old, but Dorothy and the staff are nice and helpful... just a little difficult to understand how to... More

This place ticks all the boxes: - Convenient location between Newquay and St. Ives. Lots of lovely walks and beaches in very short driving distance. - Very friendly, welcoming and accommodating staff. As pointed out by other reviewers, the owner Dorothy is a fantastic host. - The rooms are clean and at least in the room we stayed in (room... More

Its a victorian'style old house. Sleeping here its an experience to live but its right knowing that everything is old (beds, matterress, blanckets, toilets etc.) And its a bit dusty. Free wi-fi And a nice garden.

Dorothy, You are an English rose, A true lady, Nothing, Bar nothing is too much trouble for this lady and her staff. Ok, your not going to find contemporary , modern sleepover type accomodation, but if you want good old English charm at fantastic prices then go stay with Dorothy.

My children are still talking about their one night stay here. The wardrobe in room 4 is coming up again and again in conversation. We will definitely try and make staying in this gem of a b&b a yearly occasion.

Penkerris is a lovely place to stay, Dorothy (owner) was very kind to us, nothing was a problem for her and she gave us a lot of suggestions for our trips. The B&B was also very nice and homely, we really felt like home :-) The price was more than OK, plus it included a huge and tasty breakfast! I... More
