We were 8 adults, 8 kids and 3 dogs and stayed at The Porthvean for a week over New Year. It's perfectly suited to a large group with well spread out rooms and en suite facilities for all bar one room (which had its own bathroom next door). The decor is dated but everywhere is spotlessly clean and well kitted... More

Spent two comfortable nights at the Porthvean. We were so lucky with the weather. When we arrive we were greeted & shown to our room by Geoff. The room had a large queen size double & also 2 single beds ideal as a family room which overlooked the church & centre of St. Agnes. An ideal place to people watch.... More

My husband and I invited our three children with their families (19 altogether) for a weeks holiday. The Porthvean was ideal, plenty of room for everyone and facilities pleased all the grandchildren from 3 year olds to 23 year old! The games room, sauna and hot tub were favourites! The kitchen was so well equipped it made catering for large... More

This is the second time we have spent a week at the Porthvean and it just gets better and better. Geoff is a great host and is there if you need him but not intrusive. The accommodation is lovely with all the amenities you need. The location is perfect, within walking distance to shops, pubs and the beach so we... More

The place doesn't look like much from the putside, but the inside leaves very little to be desired: decent sized room with well appointed barhroom. Totally quiet even though it's on the main village thouroughfare, with p,enty of earing options within walking distance. The breakfast was scrumptious and the friendly host easy to talk to.

Hired the house out for a week. Very interesting building with great character. Rooms were perfect for our party, and the kitchen facilities were excellent. House was very clean when we arrived. Hot tub was a hit with our party, and the provision of a gas barbecue perfect. The location in the village was ideal with bakery, butcher, veg shop... More

Maybe best B&B around the area with smashing hosts. Excellent location so best also for group rentals. Stayed B&B and earlier weekly rental and thoroughly enjoyed all aspects. Recommended.as ideal for family or friends groups with nearby pubs and restuarants.

I would highly recommend the Porthvean in St Agnes. With comfortable rooms and spacious reception accommodation, this place is full of character and is a great place to relax, unwind and explore the North Cornish coast. Geoff is an excellent and attentive host and prepared a delicious breakfast for us all, fresh fruit salad included.

The location is great but what strikes you the most the the welcome and personal touch you receive. The owners make you feel at home. The size of the bedrooms is pleasantly shocking. I have never seen such a beg bedroom with a double bed and a single bed with a dressing table and an armoire and side tables with... More

We rented the whole place for a family gathering. If anyone is considering a get together with varied ages ( we were 18months to 94) this is great. The teenagers loved the hot tub , sauna and games room which was well away from the lounge area. It was equipped extremely well with enough comfortable seating for everyone, a large... More
