My husband and I stayed for a long weekend in an estuary view room on the top floor. We dined in Outlaws, the Nathan Outlaw Restaurant and the Mariners. Over the 3 days - breakfast, lunch and dinner I had 12 types of seafood! ( salmon, kippers, smoked haddock, mackerel, John Dory, scallops, brill, lobster, turbot, grey mullet, mussels and... More

We found the hotel a little hard to find, but what a find. Beautiful settings overlooking the estuary and gorgeous gardens and swimming pool. Staff very pleasant and helpful, lovely peaceful decorating in halls ,rooms and public areas. Our room ,at the front ,had a wonderful view, large comfy bed , wonderful bathroom products and fluffy towels...perfect. We managed to... More

We stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate a special anniversary and loved it. I am surprised at some of the negative reports. We usually stay in Padstow but are now Rock converts - much quieter. We had a lovely estuary view room on the 2nd floor - a little bit stuffy on a cool weekend but there was the... More

We stayed in the hotel for two nights to visit Restaurant Nathan Outlaw as a birthday treat from my wife. (The restaurant was exquisite) The location of the hotel is stunning, sitting at the top of terraced gardens with a view over the Camel Estuary to Padstow. Check in was efficient. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, whether you were... More

We visited The Spa with lunch at the hotel. The treatment was excellent and staff friendly, but were unable to answer questions on the products they used, they were delightful and I would have purchased. Such a shame.

Good points: Beautiful views over the Camel Estuary Friendly service at times - particularly in the restaurant Modern decor Table tennis/pool table Near Rock so you expect to pay a premium for this area Very small spa Bad points: Family of 5 adults had to have 3 rooms as no rooms take 3 people - expensive in high season but... We had a twin room overlooking the estuary..........so far ...........so good. Contemporary and clean. The safe is operated by sliding your credit card through a slit. Unfortuantely ours did not work(this was a minor issue). The breakfast was a let down. The buffet consisted of 4 bowls of various cereals ....3 juices.....muffins and croissants, however, you could order a fresh fruit... More

The hotel had well appointed rooms if a little small. We stayed as we were eating at Nathan Outlaw's 2 Michelin starred restaurant and found the hotel to be comfortable with attentive service. My wife commented that the outside of the hotel looked like a retirement home and could do with a facelift. Internally the hotel has been modernised and... More

Our second stay and we were not disappointed. The hotel is in a fantastic location over looking the Camel Estuary. The rooms are extremely well appointed and most overlook the river. Nathan Outlaw runs the two restaurants and we had two good meals at Outlaws. The ingredients are all local and beautifully cooked. The hotel and restaurant staff are efficient... More

This was a treat for my husband, one night and a meal at Outlaws. We felt very spoilt, a truly lovely hotel, staff and food. We had eaten there before, and my husband had said it was the best food he had ever had. We weren't disappointed in our return.
