We so enjoyed our stay last August that we said it is time to have another holiday with Louis our dog. Even though it is a 400 mile drive we said lets go to Tricky's again. We had such a lovely greeting from Amanda on our arrival it was just like visiting old friends. It was perfect for us last... More

Was looking forward to staying here. Booked a double room online and received confirmation instantly, we had been driving from a long distance so were looking forward to leaving our luggage in the room and relaxing in the bar. We arrived at the hotel to be told that there was no room for us, even though we were able to... More

Stayed here for business for 3 nights. Only disappointment was that the main restaurant was closed for a refurb at this time but I was contacted about this prior to my stay. The location is good, relatively close to the town centre and good for my needs. Rooms are basic but worth the money. Look forward to trying the restaurant... More

We held our wedding here two weeks ago and I can't praise them enough. The staff were friendly, polite and couldn't do enough for us. Amanda the wedding planner was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. The day went perfectly, the food was lovely, huge portions and importantly hot, everyone is still talking and praising how fantastic is all was.... More

Stayed here one night with my son and dog whilst visiting my Dad. The staff a really friendly and we were lucky to have one of their large family rooms which had a large LCD TV, comfy beds and tea, coffee, etc. I last stayed here 2 years ago and I can safely say this trip was even better than the... When we first saw the hotel we were unsure ,but once we got inside,it was all on one level, with walk in shower the only downside to this was maybe could have had a couple of bars in the shower, for disabled people to hold on to,as when wet, the floor was still quite slippy,so we put down the shower mat,,,,,,problem solved.The... We stayed at Tricky's 2 nights for a 60th birthday celebration. The reception/waitresses/housekeeping staff are all very efficient and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. Our room was spotless with a good flat screen TV and an extremely comfortable bed - we overlooked the immaculate gardens. Our modern shower was slightly on the temperamental side (Room 11 if the... The staff were very pleasant and helpful . The food was god and reasonable in price . Drinks were at the usual hotel type of prices . Not a great selection for breakfast ,but the full English was good .

Stayed here for 2 nights - the hotel is in a nice quiet location and the rooms are set back from the main pub. The rooms are themselves functional and clean and the wireless availability throughout the venue is great and an example of best practice to some 'premium' hotels who seem to think this is an optional extra. The... More

Room could be viewed as a little tired but the warm welcome and the cracking food more than make up for that. I was slightly concerned as the initial impression from the outside is less than impressive but don't let that fool you. The restaurant interior is beautiful with lots of beams and character oozing from every corner. Well kept... More
