Very friendly hosts, and a very comfortable room. The breakfast was freshly cooked and very good, and the evening meal we had one night was very agreeable. This is a realy nice country hotel, and reasonably priced if you don't want to go to a faceless Premier inn of Travelodge.

A very pleasant hotel in beautiful surroundings. Obviously very popular locally by the number of faces I knew on arrival and so I would strongly suggest booking. Our meal was an excellent example of real home cooking. This is in no way intended as a criticism, I mean simply that one could feel 'at home' here. There was a good... More

What can I say about this hotel that hasn't already been said by other reviewers... not a lot, so I will just have to repeat what has already been said. This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in for a long time, the location is perfect for exploring the sights of west cornwall. The hotel itself is... More

I stayed here for four nights, Monday until Friday and all I can say is that this hotel is just perfect. The decor and atmosphere with the hotel is comfortable and welcoming, the service is without question second to none. I especially like the fact that nothing is too much trouble, I am lactose intolerant and instead of just ignoring... More

We are so happy to have been able to return to this lovely hotel. For us it is like home from home - possibly better as we are treated to beautifully prepared food every day. We usually stay in room 5 which we find very comfortable, especially the bed which has been replaced in recent years. Paul and Bernice are... More

This was our third 7 night stay - we just keep rolling over our deposit from one year to the next! My wife and I found this beautiful small hotel quite by chance from an advert in the National Trust Magazine - would that we had found it years ago. Our hosts Bernice and Paul could not be more caring... More

A beautiful quiet location, central for the sights of far West Cornwall. Paul and Bernice were delightful hosts, they went out of their way to ensure that our every need was met and that we had a great stay. I even had a Birthday card on my Birthday. Our room was spacious, very comfortable and well equipped, also very quiet.... More

A really enjoyable second visit, Paul and Bernice made us so welcome once again and the food is so very good. Bernice is always so helpful with diet request. We have already booked again for next year.

We have just returned from one of the most relaxing holidays we have had in a good many years. Bernice and Paul create a calm, welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Add to this the superb food, the large comfortable room and bathroom and the beautiful grounds and you have a formula for the perfect holiday. We normally stay in cottages when... More

I spent a week here with friends; we were well looked after by Paul & Bernice. Breakfast & evening meals were delicious, the best home cooking rather than haut cuisine. There is a beautiful walk through bluebell woods to Portreath just by the hotel. Lovely grounds with a traditional Cornish stone wall all round. Wish we had brought shoes &... More
