Food was absolutly disgusting, ordered Lasagne it was nothing like a lasagne it was layers of dry pasta and a plain mince filling no tomato or white sauce. Very disapointed :( Place was very dark and a little chilly had to leave coat on whilst eating and im normally a very warm person.

Static menu and specials board each time we come here. We had two overcooked steaks and overcooked vegetables. The waitress wasn't helpful and retorted.."I can see blood coming out of it." We will come for a drink again but no longer food. What a shame.

We booked a table a week in advance as recommende by others but whether it was because it was a Monday night or whether it was because schools had gone back we found ourselves to be the only diners. Service and quality of food was very good. The waiter attended to all our needs and the chef came out to... More

Thank you for your review. We do get a bit quieter in October, and start to get busier towards the end of November. We get extremely busy during the summer Months and bookings are advisable More

Having eaten here many times before with lovely meals ( with the previous landlord / lady Steve & Vandra) we came for my 'special' birthday lunch in August. There were 7 of us ranging from 9-81 years old. Having booked the table and arrived at the specified time we then waited for nearly 20 minutes for our order to be... More

So sorry that you were disappointed with your meal. You could have told a member of staff , who would have told our Chef who could have cooked you fresh meals. You say you had to wait 20 mins, but that is the time you were told you would have to wait as we cook everything from fresh. We are... More

Traditional village pub. Very pleasant on our late summer midweek visit. Picked it because we were passing through and hungry. Very good basic pub food. No pretensions or anything fancy. Straightforward friendly helpful staff. Looks as if quite a lot goes on in the evenings.

We called in at The Eliot Arms at St. Germans for lunch, We were warmly greeted by staff when we entered the bar. We thought the menu was a bit limited and had to go for their steak and ale pie. Its not really a pie but stewed meat with a puff pastry lid. If it had proper shortcrust pastry... More

We stayed at Eliot Arms for four nights. We found the pub extremely friendly and we had breakfast every morning and whatever we wanted, it was just to ask for it. The food was so delicious, that my wife was eager to go to breakfast every day --- most unusual ! Although we were in the village to see my... More

Booked a short weekend break in Cornwall for my husbands birthday. Hadn't explored east Cornwall before and this was the perfect place to stay. We were booked into a lovely big family room, comfy bed, TV, plenty of tea/coffee making essentials with biscuits and plenty of hot water for showering. Full English breakfast, served in the dining room, was more... More

Stayed for 2 nights at this lovely pub last week. The room we stayed in was spotlessly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast was first class with plenty of variety, fresh juices cereals, full English yum yum, and as much as you wanted. We had evening meals both nights and we were not disappointed. I had the steak Sizzler... More

Visited at the end of June - had a pleasant drink outside in the sunshine but the Sunday lunch was not nice at all - far too much with six vegetables plus potato with ham - all tepid. Vegetables just plain boiled and lacking any sort of imagination- very boring. This is such a pretty pub in a lovely village... More

We are very sorry you did not mention about your lunch to one of our staff. Our vegetables are not plain boiled, and we have a 5 star rating from our customers for our home cooked sunday lunch, but I suppose you can not please everyone More
