We spent a wonderful week in Penarth Guest House in august. The location was excellent and allowed us to visit all corners of Cornwall. The room was comfy, plenty of light, nice en suite bathroom. Mike and his friend Sue were very welcoming. Their fantastic breakfasts, with lots of choice, all freshly cooked (you must try the hogs pudding !),... More

I can’t recommend a stay at Penarth Guest House enough. Everything about our stay there (six days) was pure pleasure. Our room upstairs was clean, comfortable, nicely furnished, and with lots of light. The modern ensuite bathroom was roomy and well fitted out. Both rooms demonstrate that Mike, the proprietor – as well as being a builder – has an... More

Really enjoyed our stay, we was there for 5 nights. And from the moment we arrived to our sad departure.(back to grined stone aka work) : ( we was made to feel welcome. Home from home experience, but with all the extra comforts and lovely breakfast. Which I recommend to anyone. Best place I've stayed in a long time. Thank... More

Mikes very nice and welcoming. Our room was ready for us even though we were an hour early! Pack in our room showing local amenities and also more in the breakfast area. He also had a deal with the manager of a really nice pub down the road (walking distance) with excellent good so we benefited from 10% off our... More

Mike was an excellent host. We are both Vegetarian and the breakfast was a full veggie cooked along with fruit, yoghurt and cereals not the normal reduced menu. Didn't need to eat lunch afterwards. Great location for the Eden project and the wider area. Rooms are a high standard and clean with a couple of nice touches. The Britannia Inn... More

The Penarth guest house is clean and the rooms well furnished. But it is the welcoming hosts and the wonderful breakfast which make it such a special place to stay. Nothing is too much trouble for Mike, and you really feel as though you are staying with friends. There is a breath-taking amount of choice for breakfast and everything is... More

You get an excellent greeting and "Cornish Welcome" from Mike who makes you feel instantly at home. For eating out there is a pub just up the road, and down the bottom of the hill is the Britannia Inn, easily walk-able provided you are capable once you leave the pub. The 10% discount (where Mike gives you a signed card)... More

From booking to leaving this B & B it's been a delightful experience. We stayed 2 nights as I wanted to visit the Eden project (which is only a few mins away) The rooms are very clean tidy and decorated to a high standard. Mike is so helpful and friendly, recommending great places to eat and places to see whilst... More

After deciding to visit the Eden project last minute we looked for accommodation that was close by,we booked the Penarth for its close proximity. We did not look at any of the reviews and arrived with no expectations so we were hugely surprised by the warm welcome from Mike despite our late arrival. We were shown to a beautiful room... More
