Stayed here for one night with a pal whilst walking the SW Coastal path. The twin room was of a high standard and the breakfast was great. Would highly recommend for walkers needing to stay in Mevagissey.

This traditional Cornish inn is located in the pretty, fishing village of Mevagissey and it is less than a minutes walk to the harbour. It is a St Austell Ales inn and serves a good choice of their ales both on draft and in bottles. The menu is the standard St Austell offering but uses locally sourced produce and has... More

Just spent a lovely weekend in the very cosy Ship Inn. Good atmosphere in the bar and though not much choice as out of season our first night dinner and breakfasts were good. The Ship makes a good base for touring - we went to Fowey, Truro, Charlstone and The Lost Gardens. The harbour area is very pretty too. Our... More

Came for a bite to eat and left totally contented ! I visited ships inn for a Sunday lunch with my Chinese girlfriend and told the owners I was a vegetarian. even though they did not have a vegetarian option to replace the meat , the chefs cooked me an alternative nut roast style dish .. The lunch was such... More

Stopped in here for lunch while visiting Mevagissey, nice friendly owners and the dog was welcome too. Had a lovely homemade fish finger sandwich which was made from whole chunks of fillet in fresh cut brown bread. Really tasty and would visit again.

Spent one night at the Ship. It happened to be Halloween so there was plenty going on in the pub. Suited us but this might not be to everyone's taste as it was quite noisy (for some time after we'd gone to bed). Our room, as you would expect from such an old building, was on the small side but... A thing of beauty. Unspoiled, as in not appearing to be something it is not. Looks like it's still in the eighteenth century from the outside, you approach through some crazy Wild West saloon type swinging doors.. How many pubs have these still? You expect Blackbeard to burst through looking to press gang some innocent tourist for his next voyage...... More

Good selection of beers and wine. Sensible menu that is augmented by a list of six or seven specials. Food is of very good quality and very reasonably priced. The whole of the pub is dog friendly which was a bonus as the pub is very popular with locals and visitors alike and it could be difficult to get a... More

The Ship Inn Arriving about 1pm, we were told the room was not ready yet (website said check in from 12.30pm) but we could leave our luggage and come back around 3pm. There was no free parking and the young guy who spoke to us (Jack?) said there was parking a couple of blocks away & the guy who runs... More
