Excellent stay. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. They don't do food except for a really good quality breakfast. but there is an excellent restaurant 300 mts away. As we were into sports they have all the main cricket and football etc for the residents to view. There is also a separate guest lounge for peace and quiet if... More

I came on a business trip. Always welcomed by name, very friendly. The pub is not a noisy one. The room was very clean with good quality bed linen. Nice to have a decent sized bath for once and the towels were lovely and soft. With the great price I will come here again

Pleasant room if a little on the small side. Friendly staff. Breakfast was ok although the promised quorn sausages never appeared!. The cupboard style bathroom was ridiculously small and almost impossible to use - I won't go into further details lol. A very nice pint of real ale was served in the bar.

Ooops! Sorry that I forgot your veggie sausage - it's never happened before! The shower room - yes it is very small - the online booking sites edit our room descriptions and we are unable to say that it is very tiny. But the price is sensible and people manage OK. Small room? - we decided to put a 4ft... More

Friendly welcome and help with the luggage both arriving and departing. Recently renovated rooms had comfortable beds with plenty of quality pillows and crisp cotton sheets. The heater can be adjusted per room (as oppose to centrally controlled) and a good reading light. The bathroom had modern plumbing and good make-up lights above the mirror and heated towel rail. It... More

Me and my wife and daughter stayed in the family room from the 25th to the 28th of August. The room was absolutely lovely and Chris and Rob were great people and have great knowledge of the area if you need any advice or ideas about where to go or what to do in Cornwall. The adrenalin quarry which is... More

1 - don't worry about the train station - a train only stops at 7am in the morning and 6.30 at night, so other trains go though and you don't notice them. 2 - it is not a busy/noisy pub so no problems with noise. 3 - Breakfast £6 is well worth it and cooked superbly 4 - the rooms... More

Travelled to Cornwall for my son's Passing Out at HMS Raleigh and stayed at this Inn. Really impressed! The rooms very clean, white linens and fluffy towels, tastefully decorated. Christine & Rob excellet hosts, very frirendly and helpful. The pub, a perfect country Inn and does not disturb the quietness in the rooms above. Lovely patio and grounds. The price... More

I spent one night on a business trip at the Sportsman. Located just off the main road, it is very easy to find. When I arrived I was greeted by name.
