We've just returned from what was an excellent stay at the Blue Bay Hotel in Mawgan Porth............. A family run hotel bursting with friendliness, comfort and good food............. Our 2 travel companions, Magsie & her daughter Maisy Mouse, the Whippet Lurchers, were made most welcome by all, including the hosts dear pet collie Patty. The location is quiet and only... more

Booked over the phone at the last minute and when we drove in a very welcoming and friendly lady showed us the facilities. Perhaps we should have looked more closely before agreeing to stay… just along the road are several other places and I'd happily consider those if I returned to this lovely area. The hotel consisted of a single... more

I could not recommend this small family-run hotel highly enough. We found it by accident whilst travelling through Cornwall, and not only did they take in weary wet people but our dog too! We relaxed in front of a roaring fire with an excellent wine list to choose from. The food was incredible, all locally sourced and cooked fresh, and... more

A nice welcome and excellent breakfastsbut the hotel needs a new cleaner, the carpets were never hoovered and the bathroom floor quite honestly was filthy. Could do with a decent light in the bathroom, so dull, and the rooms were damp, all our clothes felt damp. Would never go again. more

Second stay this year, they were busier this time, yet the service was still fantastic. Great food still, though they changed the meal.... where is the gorgeous monk fish gone..... hehe. I've been looking forward for the whole month to have it again. Sorry I just love fish...... so I had the salmon...... the taste excellent... compliments to the chef... more

We were a bit worried about booking a 2 star, but we could not have wished for a better hotel or location. The staff were extremely friendly, nothing was too much for them and have to thank Bell and Tom in particular as they went out of their way for us when they really didn't have too. Hotel rooms were... more

We were greeted by a warm and friendly welcome on our arrival at the Blue Bay. We were given tea in the lounge, overlooking Mawgan Porth Bay. The view was amazing. We stayed in Sandpiper, which suited us perfectly, as it opened up on to the deck and the garden. Although we weren't blessed with the most amazing weather, we... more

on arrival we found that the beds were not made and carpets were not clean, the decor was outdated and could do with a major uplift would be good to have a hotel inspector visit as we felt that the owners would have a shock. the breakfast was served with mouldy bread and the name hotel should be changed to... more
