This is a difficult one. The restaurant itself we found to be very dated and in need of an upgrade, and the lighting was not of restaurant quality either which detracted from the ambience. The menu was reasonable in content and price but there was no wine list at all. There seemed to be two choices of red and two... More

We stayed here at the end of March for 7 nights via DAE. The room we had was furnished to a great standard and being very quiet we enjoyed a wonderfully peaceful nights sleep each night. The staff are all friendly and cannot do enough for you, on asking for milk on the first night , I was given the... More

As the place has just changed operators I will avoid too much negative comment as there are plans for a major refurbishment so I think it is better to wait six months or so and see if the operator has fulfilled his plans- which are certainly ambitious i.e. a full make over of the hotel and bedrooms, lots of landscaping,... The hotel is under new management and undergoing refurbishment which it does need the hotel and room are very tired but spacious with good amenities. It could do with a very good clean the carpets are stained and mould in the shower, however the staff are very friendly and cannot do enough for you the food was very good and... More

This hotel has just re-opened but work is still being done on site. This didn't stop my family and I having a great stay. All the staff are friendly and love to stop and chat to you, including chef Andy. When ever we asked for somewhere to go, Lee called for us to find out information. The accommodation was ideal... Please note this 'hotel' is about to close. The restaurant is only open for breakfast. The public facilities close early therefore access to bar recreation or wifi is limited. The pool closes at 4 pm or earlier. Apparently the club has had difficulty in making changes on booking sites to aid guest expectations. This is now a B&B without staff... More

My husband and I stayed at this location a week ago. The place has tremendous potential although we understand it has been sold for redevelopment, which is a great shame. The property is made up of several buildings each containing a number of rooms. Our en suite was fine, allbeit the carpet was tired and the grounds also needed attention.... More

I attended a function recently at this location and all seemed well, until the meal was served. Oh dear !. Catering packs of food and little of it. A request for more vegetables took a bit of time and only produced a few extra carrots. The waiting staff were pleasant but seemed a bit demoralised and I can only assume... More

A quick pit stop in in the way to Hayle found us stopping for the night in The Lostwithiel Golf Club hotel The rest of our party had arrived earlier and said that the bar good and service was great value... The rooms were a bit tired but clean and comfortable although the radiators pumped out a tad too much... More

Overnight stay at Lostwithiel Hotel Golf & Country club was very pleasant. The front of house very helpful. Stayed in barn conversion. Rooms compact but very comfortable, and fine for resting up after a round of golf. Good breakfast following morning. Looking forward to returning with my golf clubs next time!
