Me, my husband and 2 other couples staying at the Earl of Chatham as we were attending a friends Christening in Bodmin. It is a lovely country pub in a beautiful little village, open fire, nice clean rooms and the staff were friendly and accommodating! Nothing was too much at breakfast! I would recommend this pub to anyone who asked... More

The pub is lovely, great old roaring-fire (obv not in summer) with nice atmosphere. Good selection of real ales and the food "pub grub" is really tasty with solid portion sizes. We had steak & ale pie and a rump steak - both delicious! We stayed a night in the B&B (to break up a journey) which was perfectly nice.... More

Made very welcome and had friendly service from all staff throughout our four night stay. Breakfast was excellent. It can be noisy but that's to be expected when staying in a pub. Only gripe was the lack of a hair dryer. Booking.com said one was available but it was incorrect. Would have taken our own if we knew.

On the hill to the north of the town lies the pub amongst a terrace of houses, the staff were very welcoming the beer decent and the small restaurant had a good menu. 6 of us had starters and mains and we all commented on the quality of the meal. Definitely recommended if you want a good pub meal!

Visited this lovely pub a few times during our stay in Liskard. Great menu to chose from and food was excellent. Nice beer garden. Best part( if on a doggie holiday, like us) the dogs were welcome in too. Will def visit again on our next holiday.

We have just returned from a four night stay at the Earl of Chatham, Lostwithiel. Nothing to complain about - the service and the friendly staff are what makes this place. As previous reviews have stated it is a locals pub but everyone makes you feel welcome. Please do not go here if you expect a quiet peaceful evening in... More

We Stayed at the Earl of Chatham 4th/6th July, the rooms are clean and tidy and the bed comfortable. We ate here one night, I had Vegetable lasagne and my husband has Beef pie which was very tasty. This is a locals pub but everyone was friendly, there was a birthday party the next night of our stay but this... More

My boyfriend and I headed to Cornwall for a concert at The Eden Project. We stayed at The Earl of Chatham for 3 nights from 28th June 2013. We had a fantastic time. Our room was clean and well presented, the staff were lovely and the food was great!! We mingled in with the locals at the pub and were... More

Had dinner here with a colleague. Firstly we were greeted with zero enthusiasm and informed that all the restaurant tables were booked. My starter, Brie wedges, was overcooked to the extent that 2 of the 3 were missing their filling. Surely the 'chef' noticed this - but served them anyway. Main course of king prawns - overcooked and rubbery and... More

I am sorry this couple did not enjoy their meal. I would like to say that their comments about the food that evening could well be true on this odd occasion, as there was an emergency for the chef (me) that day and another member of staff filled in, but that is as far as this apology goes. You were... More
