Had a good nights sleep, great bar meal , good service and really friendly welcome. Arrived very early before 12 noon, really just to have a look around and see the evening menu. Landlady let me check in and leave my bags straight away. She even quickly and with no fuss changed my room from one with separate private bathroom... More

Clean, friendly, beakfasts are very good. Good base to see attractions. You have to remember that is a pub and that Friday and Saturdays it can be lively. The locals are friendly, but don't expect an early night on these evenings.

We have ate hear on many occasions and have never been disappointed with the food. The meals are always freshly cooked using produce from local suppliers , they are generous portions at a reasonable price . I recently had the home made steak and ale pie , and it was probably the best i have ever tasted.

At £68 per night for B&B in Room 1 with private bathroom along the landing this was adequate. On entering, the room had a musty aroma, possibly a bit damp? The walls and floors are very thin so there was a lot of noise in the evening from the jolly people in the bar below but it was quiet by... More

Our visit to Cornwall was short, only four days and was a combination of business & pleasure. We had been recommended to stay at "The Earl of Chatham" and we were not disappointed. The breakfasts were excellent and whilst we only had dinner one night the Steak & Ale pie was easily the best we had ever eaten. Bearing in... More

This Inn is good value for money and conveniently located for visiting the surrounding area particularly as it has off road parking. The room was adequate although the bed was too big for the room as one side of it was up against the wall. A smaller bed would have made it easier to access. A good bed, however, with... More

Visited for lunch with family members, good food and we were surprised that as vegetarians we could actually have a choice, so many places don't bother and only have one dish but we had lots of options. The service was really good too, nice atmosphere and would recommend to anyone,

Three of us enjoyed a very nice lunch. Food was home made, good quality and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and timely. Nice pub which hasn't been tarted up and retains a nice local feel. Worth a visit
