Delicious lunch and superb desserts all washed down by an pint of doom (or maybe two), service was excellent and the pub itself feels extremely authentic and very welcoming. Can't wait until we walk our dogs up here again to have a re-visit.

Stopped off hoping for lunch. Wow what a meal. Good service. Piping hot delicious steak and ale pie. Plenty of vegetables and piles of meat under a lovely light puffy lid. Good selection of well kept beer. Well worth a visit.

This is a review for the attached pub: My friends wanted tea and I didn't so I joined a group on the patio with my beverage. Inside the restaurant there is also nice seating if you choose. What a nice experience outside! I would return in a minute!

I'm generally a bit wary to eat somewhere on recommendation as it usually falls flat - not this time, though! We went in on the first Sunday of our holiday to be told the local cricket team were booked, but we were welcome to eat in the back restaurant. Despite being packed like sardines in the bar the waitresses were... More

We telephoned to book a double room and were pleasantly surprised that we weren't asked to pay a deposit. Good welcome on arrival, and the barstaff offered advice about dining as they can get very busy on weekend evenings. Most tables were occupied when we arrived, but one soon became available and it was no trouble to the staff to... More

We enjoyed a return visit to this hotel this month. The rooms are clean, and comfortable; the staff are welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The menu in the restaurant is extensive, not too pricey, and meals are home-cooked and the portions are more than generous. Breakfast menu is also extensive, and the generous portions will set you... Lovely homecooked food, this pub is always packed out and you need to book, says it all. That many customers can't be wrong, Very varied menu with a specials board, You need to be hungry the portions are excellant, I can never manage a pudding which look awesome, overall excellant value for money.

Whenever I am visiting Cornwall a trip up to the cheesewring for dinner is a must. Great home cooked food spot on every time. With countless homemade desserts to choose from. Meal for 4 costs approx 12.50 per head which is an absolute bargain. The landlady and land lord are always there to give u a warm welcome. This place... More

Look, it's not all doom and gloom. This is a nice local pub clean and friendly, would say that the craic is mighty here on a a weekend. Very friendly staff and land lady. However the food is pretty poor even as pub food goes, everything seems to coated in oil and straight out of the freezer!! The fact that... More

We were only at the Cheesewring Hotel for 2 nights but it was a really great stay. The rooms were lovely and comfortable, with good-sized ensuites, and the twin even had a comfy sofa. A full English Breakfast was included in the very reasonable room price and the food was delicious - we ate there both evenings. We really enjoyed... More
