We ate here a couple of times during a recent stay nearby. On both occasions the staff were friendly and very helpful. The regular menu has a good selection of meals, there is also a specials board. They serve Doom Bar which is always a bonus and the location of the pub is very pretty. Nothing to fault it.

Went for drinks, all pretty pleasant but did not feel as instant friendly as others I've visited in the area. Still would go back willingly as this was a short visit and the beer was good. Pub dog was friendly too.

Thank you for your feedback and we indeed hope you will come back to sample some more of our well-kept beers and perhaps stay for some food next time. I gather the pub dog was friendly but sorry if the humans didn't hit the right cord with you on that occasion. Can't quite comprehend why as we normally try to... More

We ordered a meal on not a busy evening, even though it was busy on the Green for a sailing evening. We ordered a Belly Pork and Red Pepper Risotto. It took at least 20 minutes to arrive with only two other meals to be served so quite slow. The Pork looked and my partner said it was excellent but... More

Friendly, welcoming staff. Room spotlessly clean, huge very comfortable bed. Really good decor throughout. Bathroom clean with good shower and bath. Fresh flowers and candles in room, beautifully done. Dinner in the Ship was excellent, good varied menu, catering for vegetarians and gluten free options too. Breakfast was huge and lovely. Such a pretty village, good walks through the woods... More

My three night stay at The Ship Inn was a really good experience. Comfortable, charming, well kempt with all the required facilities. All the staff are first rate; Ronnie sets the standard and it is a high one. She is part of the scene with the locals and guests alike and is ably supported by her staff both front and... More

This is a proper Cornish Inn located in a very pretty river-side village that delivers good hospitality and good food. A quirky old building means the accommodation is accessed via an outside staircase but that's not a problem. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have all expected facilities for a pleasant stay. The bar is warm and welcoming with a... More

I stayed for one night whilst visiting friends in the area... First off the room.....SPIFFING! really nicely decorated and contemporary but keeping the characterful quirks of an old building, everything clean & well presented. The Bar?..... Cosy and friendly in that Cornish way without too much seafaring tat hanging all over the walls....beer reasonably priced, served and well kept (check... More

Really has the personal touch, very clean and a comfortable bed! The bedrooms in the cottage next door seem new. The pub feels like a traditional Cornish pub. It all adds to being up to date and smart. The English breakfast was the best I have had for ages. The bar and breakfast room is modern and very well presented... More
