I wanted to like it. I really did! But they are not exaggerating about the damp, and the smell! It really is overpowering. That was the first thing that hit us when we opened the door to our bungalow. Then we saw the dog hair all over the lounge carpet, and a sweet stuck to it! Obviously hadn't even been... More

Reviewed this in April and gave glowing reviews but sadly our summer holiday has changed all that. We rented a bronze 3-bed house so we can take the dog (which pay an extra £40 for) and was given a house that quiet frankly should not be rented out. The sofa was filthy and threadbare, the carpet was worn away in... More

Booked as last minute holiday but was absolutely thrilled by the friendly, helpful staff to unsure we have the right accommodation for our needs. Very safe place for children to play without constant supervision. Booked Gold accommodation and were not disappointed. Will not hesitate to go back!

Starting at the beginning, we arrived on what looked a lovely site. Having seen mixed reviews, we were pleasantly charmed on the approach. Staff welcome was very good though a little confusing as the keys to our chalet had been "lost" - maybe we should have took this as a marker? From here I will qualify and say this is... More

Hello Chris Obviously, poor reviews are a serious matter to a successful business such as ours and need to be investigated at the highest level. Even though we have the satisfaction of knowing that last year well over 50,000 families enjoyed a John Fowler Holiday at our 14 holiday parks, occasionally we let a customer down and it is imperative... Nice appearance from outside of the house we stayed in but were soon disappointed. The cleaners had done no more than a quick hoover, there were spiders everywhere dead and alive. No lock on downstairs bathroom which was awkward as the upstairs toilet was broke. The beds were very hard and the rest of the furniture was old and the... More

Stayed first week in August, was very disappointed with the dark, dated, worn looking silver cottage to sleep nine. The curtain rail was hanging off the wall, knobs missing from the bedroom drawers and no mirror in the bathroom & although there were 9 beds, there was no where near enough downstairs space for nine, we struggled with 6 people.... First thing I would say is that the seagulls will drive you made day and night there are lots of young gulls on nearly every roof and the don't stop... We live by the sea and know what there like but sorry these where really nosiey .. The owners need to get a firm in to stop them from breading... More

Hello Speedwax Sadly the seagulls are attracted because people unwittingly feed them, thinking it's the right thing to do. We would love to move them on but there are certain constraints in place. We are doing our best within the limits suggested by the RSPB. We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your stay and how helpful and... More

We stayed at Tolroy for a week jul into aug, in a gold chalet. On arrival we were a tad worried. The reception/dining area was worn, dated and had spider webs in most corners. The chef seemed to be doing waitering table cleaning and cooking all alone. We didnt eat there. The chalet was better than we expected though, it... More

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience at our holiday park. Updating that lovely old manor house could be a tad difficult but I appreciate what you say. You missed a real treat by not trying the food at this park. If you read the reviews on this website, they all say how good it... More

We stayed here on a Friday to Monday break whilst travelling around Cornwall for a couple of weeks! It's not a bad location for getting around the area by car, nice clean spacious chalet, well equipped (probably the first time we've ever had a hoover!), nicely decorated (lovely bathroom with full size bath) but oh my goodness the damp!! No... More

Still here 4 a Monday-Friday break. Lovely site, great kids playground & lovely area 2 explore. Got a silver 2 bed chalet. Lovely chalet but smelt really damp on arrival, thought it would get better as we used it but it hasn't! Beds really hard & uncomfortable but the worst thing is the damp. Have 2 put heater on at... Hello Dick and Carol Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us your review. With regard to the damp smell we are well aware of the reason but it is so difficult for us to deal with. Sadly, some people will occupy a holiday unit and not open a window for the duration of their stay. This... More
