We visited this b&b last weekend and what a lovely little find. From the moment we walked in we felt very at home and welcome with the smell of an open burning fire and lovely owners Erika & Neil. We arrived quite late at night after a long journey from Manchester and they were still happy to offer us a... More

This was a fabulous little find, I couldn't have been happier with the price and location 5 minutes stroll from the sea. It was my first lone trip to be close to HMS Rayleigh and the owner Erika, who has very recently acquired the Finnygook, made me feel most welcome. It is a pub B&B so noise is to be... More

Booked a table for 7.30, ok so the table had a reserved sign on it, probably the only positive sign of the evening. Ordered food and waited just under an hour, then wow - my curry arrived, such a small portion thought it was a starter. My partners meal also arrived, risotto, but totally stodgy and inedible so sent back.... More

Lovely walk on the beach in bright Cornish sunshine topped off by a lovely lunch in front off a big log fire Friendly staff ,good service and.food. The soup was a meal in itself my sons steak was perfect with good portions of chips and vegetables. The baguettes ordered by the rest of our party were great

The Finnygook Inn was booked for 2 nights, the room was not overly clean and our coffee cups were dirty with the previous guests drinks, luckily we travel with our own mugs so we were able to use our own. We sat in the bar for a little while then decided to have our glass of wine in the room.... More

We, (six professional women of a certain age walking the south west coastal path) once had a very positive experience staying at the Finnygook, when our walk got rained and fogged off, so we booked it again for three days to complete the missing bits of the path. But something has changed. Very friendly and helpful breakfast staff – faultless... More

I got a fine room at a good price at the Finnygook Inn. It overlooked an outdoor seating area, and I thought that might be a bit noisy, but only a few people used it during the evening, and they kept reasonably quiet. A lot depends on the other guests in any accommodation, and the people staying at the inn... More

We cannot comment on the food this time as we didn't get that far. We have been visiting the Finnygook for quite a few years but we will not be returning. What started as a simple booking of a table on the telephone ended in us leaving after being subjected to appalling customer service with a 'local woman' joining in... More
