Bowood offers the ideal place to take a golf break, the hotel accommodation is simple but clean and tidy , the staff are very affable, the food is excelent and comparable with most 4 star hotels. The golf course is a challenge for all standards of golfers and very well presented.

We have just spent a 3 day break in cornwall. We booked the Bowood park hotel online not knowing what to expect. We were more than happy with the hotel, staff, room and food all excellent.Yes there was noise when the golf buggys were parked on the gravel in the mornings but if you stay at a hotel that offers that... This hotel would be great for male golfers, but not for couples or families. The bar was filled with rowdy golfers at the end of their days of play, watching sports, or just getting together. When they moved into the dining room together, the noise went with them. We had an upstairs room with golfcourse view. The fireplace howled the... More

This hotel had the most friendly staff i have ever known!! They were welcoming and always there to help you out if needed....and did it all with a smile. Nothing was too much effort! There was no lift in the hotel (slight downside) but staff carried my bags up the stairs for me. The food in the restaurant (including free... More

The room on arrival was reasonably clean but dusty, the bathroom smelt very damp with stained flooring around the wash basin. The bed was very hard and very uncomfortable which led to very little sleep. On the first morning we went down for breakfast about 9.30am, the breakfast (buffet style) was cold and the eggs were hard, on the second... More

Arrived at hotel. Was advised we had been upgraded to a room with a golf course view. Good start! I mentioned 4 times that I had booked a twin. She kept nodding. Went out to get bags from car, sister and I carried our luggage up 2 flights of stairs. No lift. Entering room it was a double bed. Phoned... More

Overall a lovely hotel. Beautiful location great staff, all English which makes a nice change these days!!!! cleanliness of the the rooms spot on. Staff work really hard and are really sociable when you see them in the mornings. The only downside to this hotel are the rooms. Our room (101) was a lovely size especially the bathroom BUT the... It is a couple of years since we last stayed here and delighted to say that we have just thoroughly enjoyed a 3 night golf break. Please make sure that when you reserve a superior room that you know exactly where your room is. Unfortunately we reserved 2 superior rooms (rooms 106/107) which ended up being the smallest in the...
