I stayed 5 nights and the superlatives are endless. Caroline and Peter have a beautiful home that they love to share with their guests, be it the dining room, the lounge , or the garden with the tranquil and relaxing water feature. The bedroom is very luxurious, the bed very comfortable, and I even slept very well on my first... More

Updown Cottage is perfect for a peaceful, relaxing stay in the beautiful Downgate area. Caroline and Peter were great hosts - friendly, helpful and good company. On my first morning there they recommended a beautiful countryside walk which was perfect after such a filling and exquisite breakfast (I highly recommend the pancake with berries!). I was staying there to attend... More

Caroline and Peter are lovely friendly hosts who are happy to go the extra mile. Beautiful breakfasts with an amazing variety - no chance of going hungry. Very charming and comfortable rooms. They can offer lots of info on what to visit and loaned a map to help find our way. Will definately stay again if we get back to... More

We greatly enjoyed our recent stay here. Peter and Caroline have put a lot of effort into providing a first class service at their bed and breakfast. We stayed in room 3, which was spacious, with a comfy bed, a separate area with a sofa, where you can relax, read a book or watch television, the shower was also lovely... More

Another very enjoyable visit to this delightful B&B, and the first time we have been in high Summer. The weather was good and our hosts recommended a perfect (for us) walk from the doorstep through varied countryside and calling at the (also very good) Royal Inn on the Tamar. On return we enjoyed freshly-baked scones in our hosts' pretty courtyard... More

All the other positive reviews have said it all. Peter and Caroline are the most hospitable hosts and the accommodation was second to none, with great attention to detail in the décor and service. A lovely welcome with scones and tea and the breakfasts were 5*. Will definitely return to this B & B when visiting Cornwall again.

Beautiful house and rooms; well designed. I fell in love with the 'rain forest' shower. The breakfast menu was full of very interesting surprises and I would recommend trying as many options as possible if you are there for a few days. The porridge was amazing; I generally don't like it but got converted :).

The title almost says it all. Peter and Caroline are an enthusiastic, well travelled couple who really enjoy looking after you . Breakfasts are the highlight of the day and you are encouraged to try variations of their extensive menues (including some you have probably not tried before. For example, have you ever had creme brulee porrage or orange and... More

We have stayed here & at their previous B&B next door both for a week at a time. We doubt you'll find better; in fact the 1st time we stayed with Peter & Caroline there was a large group of us staying at various B&B's in the area & this one was (and still is) the best by a long... More

Very comfortable room, great breakfast, very friendly reception by both Peter and Caroline. Well worth a visit and stay 2 nights to enjoy a delicious home made Cream Tea. Cottage is modern and spotlessly clean, with great attention to the smallest detail.
