There's a timeless relaxed atmosphere at this proper farm B&B set overlooking picturesque lakes. We especially enjoyed the abundance of birds and wildlife about the place, from the Canada geese to swallows, kittens to rabbits- absolutely delightful! Wish we had longer to see more- apparently there are bats at night and course fish in the lake and no doubt there's... More

Excellent B&B on a working farm. The grounds are stunning with two large lakes and no shortage of wildlife. After checking in, we sat on the lawn by the lakes and within half an hour, saw a Kingfisher. The room was well furnished and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities. Every time we came back we were brought fresh... More

We have stayed in both self-catering and B&B at Polhilsa and have returned many times over the last few years. The relaxed atmosphere and beautiful setting would be hard to beat. Weather in this area is also good as any bad weather does not last long. Kay, Phil and Margaret make their guests feel so welcome and nothing is ever... More

We stayed for one night in a B&B room. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, well furnished, nicely decorated and comfortable. The breakfast was superb. The only downside was the very poor Wifi signal in the building which houses the B&B rooms and breakfast room. We were told that it's better in the holiday cottages.... More

I had booked Polhilsa b and b on a very good deal, more so had I been a couple or a family as I had a room with double bed and bunk beds. I had selected the room on the website as it had a bath. The room was pleasant but very dark, with a view of the side of... More

We stayed for three nights during May half term. It is a wonderfully tranquil place, and the owners are very friendly and hospitable. Dogs are welcome (and, when we stayed, a large proportion of the guests had brought their four legged friend with them), and there are plenty of places to walk them, particularly around the lakes and in the... Set in a beautiful location, this B&B offered us a warm friendly welcome despite a late arrival, and throughout our stay a peaceful tranquility. Views are stunning with an extensive garden and a lake that receives over 45 kinds of birds including Canadian Geese. Rooms are spacious and very clean, with very comfortable beds. Rural but still close to Tavistock... More

We stayed here for two nights in July 2013 as friends of ours were getting married in a nearby village. We had a really lovely stay, our room was very spacious, perfectly clean with lots of nice teas, coffee and some sweets left out for us. The ensuite was also large and immaculately clean. The location itself is stunning, overlooking... More

I stayed here over the bank holiday for 2 nights, and I am so happy that we stayed here. Lovely grounds so you have the space factor, very relaxing atmosphere as nothing was any trouble with Kay and family. I would definitely recommend this if you are easy going and enjoy excellent comfort with space. Personally I enjoyed the full... More
