Not only is the hotel located in a beautiful setting, the quality of the rooms is outstanding. Tastefully decorated and sympathetically restored, the Minstral's Gallery is a delight and the lounge dramatic. We were fortunate enough to have our stay coincide with folk night and, whilst the music isn't to my taste, the atmosphere in the bar was fantastic. We... more

Arrived to an empty Reception. Was told the Receptionist's (Hotel Manager) dog had his head stuck down a rabbit hole and she'd be with us as soon as she could. After a couple of phone calls, and no one knowing what room we were booked into, we were offered a cup of coffee until the Receptionist arrived. Room 5 beckoned.... more

We stayed over at the Wellington for one night on a sunny day at the end of July. We arrived just after 2pm, the specified time of check in, but were told to come back in an hour, albeit politely because our rooms weren't ready, although we were welcome to park the car. I wasn' too bothered by this as... more

We loved Boscastle and our weeks stay at the Wellington Hotel was wonderful. All the staff were very accommodating and friendly. Our room was comfortable and clean. The Welly Bar was great, we had some really good evenings in there and the bar staff were always very polite. The food was excellent, especially the breakfasts (you never went hungry) and... more

My experience at this hotel was something I wouldn't wish upon anyone. Upon arrivial and noticing it was a very old building I jokingly asked the receptionist who showed us to our rooms if the hotel was haunted. She laughed and said she hadn't seen any ghosts but had seen a couple of odd shadows. She did not elaborate on this... more

Management response from
Suzanne Roberts, Manager

The management refrains from expressing personal opinions about paranormal activity in an attempt to be respectful of guest’s individual views. We are often asked if we have heard of any ghost stories in the hotel. In response to this demand there is an information folder in the resident’s lounge documenting past employee and guest “experiences”. We are obviously unable to...

Having just visited the Wellington, we where very disappointed with the overall Hotel, our room s some what tiny standard double had not got even space to unpack our suitcase, infact we had to unpack on the bed no room to put it, as for the bathroom these are in deed in need of some updating. Changing rooms have supposed... more

After staying a night at Fawlty Towers (aka Seascape Hotel Polzeath) we were delighted when we reached the Wellington. We stayed one night on a room plus meals as taken basis and upgraded to a 'cottage room' which was very quaint and also very comfortable. It was a real bonus to find that they had a 'eat free if it... more

We stayed in the Guy Gibson Room (top turret) for 2 nights. This was a treat for us as we usually go for more economical room at hotels. You have to carry suitcases up a fairly narrow staircase. At first impession the room was a well furnished good size room with lovely views. A good size modern bathroom. On closer... more
