After staying a night at Fawlty Towers (aka Seascape Hotel Polzeath) we were delighted when we reached the Wellington. We stayed one night on a room plus meals as taken basis and upgraded to a 'cottage room' which was very quaint and also very comfortable. It was a real bonus to find that they had a 'eat free if it... more

This place is a real find.My wife and I have stayed here several times in the last couple of years normally for 2-3 nights. Its part of the Dartington Hall Trust and sits in delightful grounds at Dartington just outside Totness. The rooms are plain but very nice, the food is generally of a high standard,I have never had a bad meal there... more

We stayed in the Guy Gibson Room (top turret) for 2 nights. This was a treat for us as we usually go for more economical room at hotels. You have to carry suitcases up a fairly narrow staircase. At first impession the room was a well furnished good size room with lovely views. A good size modern bathroom. On closer... more

I've stayed at "the Welly" several few times over the past 6 years. The village of Boscastle is small, enclosed, charming, quirky and a bit magical. The Welly shares that kind of energy. The Long Bar is the social hub of the village; it has a lovely real log fire, serves decent bar food (I enjoyed a very good steak),... more

The friendly staff could not make up for our disappointment with this hotel. After a depressing lunchtime drink in a gloomy deserted bar we climbed up lots of steep stairs with stained and worn carpet to a large but very oppressive bedroom. What a waste of a spacious and unusual turret room. It could be made to look fabulous but... more

Shame! after the flood they had a real opportunity to change. The rooms are poor quality (and we had a suite) especially the bathrooms. Everything has been done on the cheap. Strange that you are able to smoke in your rooms? what if you want a non smoking room? seems like the managements priorites are the wrong way around. Dinner... more

Dear Tripadvisor Member, Thank you for your feedback. After the floods of 2004 the Roberts family took great care in the rebuilding of the hotel. We are extremely grateful and proud of the local painters, decorators and craftsmen who helped, remodel and refurbish the hotel and its 15 bedrooms. We are only sorry that they are not to everybody’s taste....

We stayed at the Guy Gibson Room which was very spacoius with a huge four-poster bed and a nice bathroom. Everything arranged very nicely and clean. We felt at home directly when we entered the room. The service was also very nice and we had a warm welcome....An amazing building and interior, very good british food at the Long Bar... more

All of our group were delighted with the Wellington Hotel. Suzanne the manger went out of her way to ensure that our needs were met. The food - prepared by Chef Scottie - was superb and a real treat. The staff were attentive and friendly without being pushy - even the beds were voted the most comfortable ever! more

After having been almost destroyed by the flood of August 2004, it's amazing how well The Wellington has been refurbished and is back to being the historic building it originally was. I wouldn't agree with some people that the dining room decor isn't nice, as it's trendy and very comfortable and my friend and I had a great breakfast in... more
