We had 4 nights at The Wellington, the first 2 were in the outstanding Room 21. Great stay, slept well and the room was immaculately turned out and well worth the £125 a night we paid for it. The last 2 nights we were moved into Room 4, which apparently has recently been done up. This room is not a... More

We were made very welcome by the staff and shown around the hotel. Stayed in the turret room which was very large and well furnished with a nice bathroom .Very convenient to stroll in to Boscastle .We used the side entrance which saved some stairs and having to go through reception.Breakfast was very nice but on the small side for... I have stayed at this hotel many times and wholeheartedly recommend. Great hotel with superb food whether eating in the restaurant or the bar. Staff are always excellent and welcome you back like an old friend .....nothing is too much trouble. For that special treat stay in either the Guy Gibson or Thomas Hardy turret rooms.

We stayed here on weekend and it was nice. The room, although classed as a small, was very good sized and clean with a clean on-suit. There is a pub and restaurant downstairs that are very nice (we sat and had a drink down there later in the evening) and you can’t hear it in the room. Breakfast was in... More

Stayed here for 4 nights in June. The hotel has been extensively refurbished since the 2004 floods, with only the discreet high watermark sign in the upstairs (!) Gallery showing the extent of the flooding. The Long Bar has been redecorated and made lighter with large windows and comfortable seating both downstairs in the bar and upstairs in the gallery.... We had lunch here while visiting and hiking in Boscastle..it was very good and the staff very friendly. Its old but historical and romantic location. We needed directions and they found us a map. Lovely to have a glass of sherry to warm up after a windy and wet hike.

We have followed chef Kit Davies from the Castle in Bude to his new base as the chef for the Wellington Hotel's restaurant. The food at the Castle was consistently excellent - outstanding ingredients cooked perfectly and not messed about with. He has stepped things up a notch at the Wellington - presentation and execution is more elaborate but not... More

This hotel is currently going through some alterations. It is a lovely place in one of the most stunning locations in Cornwall. There are two moans though: 1) The lighting in the bar and gallery is just too bright - the migraine inducing light bulbs destoy any chance of enjoying a Cornish pub-like atmosphere - turn down the lights or... Thanks for your review which is much appreciated. On the two points raised, your comments are very valid. For the lights in the Bar, we had been trying out some new LED bulbs as part of our goal to be as environmentally friendly a hotel as possible. These were too bright and we have reverted to our original ones until... More
