Stayed for three nights, seemed far to short. Warm welcome by Sally and Chris, with tea, which was most welcome. We stayed in the the Rector's room, very well appointed. Lovely idea two Bath robes, quality towel's, lovely bathroom. Tea, Coffee, bottled water, home baked biscuits, little extra's we appreciated. We also enjoyed an evening meal, with the chance to... We had a wonderful visit at the Old Rectory. The rooms were spacious, showers new, and the heat was just right! Sally and Chris, our hosts, could not have been more gracious with terrific made to order breakfasts and a nice dinner where they joined us along with other guests. The place is steeped in history--Thomas Hardy actually lived and... More

A perfect break - this was probably the best B&B we have ever stayed in. We were welcomed by Sally, and Millie, with a pot of tea in the residents lounge and that was just the start of perfect stay. We were there for three nights and thus had the opportunity to try six of the breakfasts - but we... More

I stayed here with a friend and was not disappointed. It's a beautiful house set in it's own grounds and is steeped in history. The rooms are well appointed in a period sort of way and are clean and cosy (but not small). I stayed in the Stable room which is excellent and very roomy with it's own mini lounge.... More

I needed a weekend break and picked The Old Rectory at random. Though tucked out of the way I found it very easily with the directions given on the website. Really didn't know what to expect but was greeted by Sally, the owner, who proceeded to welcome me and take my bag. I was showed to my room which was... More

We look to come to stay at The Old Rectory at least twice a year and this was our first visit of 2014. We stayed for nine nights this time and our visit was for the Boscastle Walking Week [a must for 2015 if you've not been before - 18th - 25th April - stick it in your diary]. We... More

Welcoming hosts. Beautiful and quiet setting yet quite close to A39. We stayed for six nights and only met one car on the approach roads so it was easy to access, signposted from where your Sat Nav takes you. We really enjoyed our stay and the evening meals and the exceptional breakfasts. We had dinner there on five nights and... More

My husband and I still wax lyrical about our stay at the Old Rectory a few months ago. It was such a wonderfully relaxing place to stay and the hosts made it such a great experience with their local knowledge and the stories they shared over dinner. Not only was breakfast delicious, but dinner (which was offered on several nights... More

Since we're not English (or Cornish) we don't quit grasp the "thomas Hardy" thing. But we can understand now why he wrote some of his poems in that surroundings. The fact the even in modern society a family sets out on this journey to become totallt self supporting is amazing. We stayed for a whole week and found it always... More

We only spent one night at The Old Rectory, but it's left a lasting impression - a wonderful location, property, host, welcome (and breakfast). The sun was shining, the garden was peaceful, the view down Vallency Valley was immaculate, the piglets looked tasty... this was by far our favourite lodging in our short trip around Cornwall. Boscastle is either an... More
