Stayed at this little gem last week, staff were very polite and helpful in checking me in early which was very kind! booked a 4 poster bedroom which was lovely (little bit cold!) nice bathroom, all very clean and comfortable! breakfast was really good, everything you could want, hot and freshly made to order. The bar had a large open... More

We booked our one night stay as a last minute trip and we were not disappointed. While we don't live too far away it still felt like a break! On arrival we were upgraded free of charge to a four poster room which had wifi. The staff were friendly especially the reception staff. My only complaint is that the food... More

Visited Jamaica Inn on Saturday afternoon. The interior was reasonably attractive and the staff were quite friendly, so we were hopeful. Until the food arrived. Jacket potatoes, coronation chicken & salad. Difficult to get wrong. It was awful. The potatoes were not hot enough, one of them was partly black, the chicken was very cold, obviously straight out of a... More

Stopped here now for the second time whilst out walking, we had a drink in very pleasant surroundings. The staff are friendly and welcoming (especially child friendly) and the roaring fire in the bar is just the topping on the cake after a a chilly walk on the moor. More

My wife booked a last minute Christmas surprise for one night at the famous Jamaica Inn on Bodmin Moor. This old travellers inn was made famous by Daphne Du Maurier in her book of the same name. It was briefly owned by Alistair MacLean, the thriller writer. The inn is set on a high spot on Bodmin Moor and in... More

Have stayed at the Jamaica Inn now about 5 times with my wife and a few times with friends and its a great bolt hole to get away for a night. We usually go to North Cornwall for a walk for a couple of hours beforehand around Harlyn, Constantine, Mother Ivy's etc then about a 35 minute drive and check... More

This was our second visit to Jamaica Inn this year, we enjoyed it so much the first time. Both times were out of season (beginning of April, and early November,Bodmin Moor was very misty so added to the spooky atmosphere. The hotel is in a good central position to explore the area.Meals were good and plentiful, especially the steak meal. All staff... More

First I would like to thank the staff. All made us feel welcome and were very helpful. I am partially disabled and I am very grateful to the lady at reception who took the trouble to reallocate rooms so that we could have a ground floor room. Breakfast was excellent. Buffet style where you help yourself. Choice of cooked and... More

Really enjoyed our stay here. Really old feel to the place, great atmosphere. Lovely big fire place and a good selection of cask ales which i didn't expect. The room was clean and had everything you'd need. The bathroom was new and the bath itself nice and deep. No shower but that didn't matter. The food is pub food, so... More
